Palm Bay Hotel in Sissi

We went to this restaurant twice, for lunch. The food was OK. There was plenty of it. The second time we went, my food was very good. Very tasty. My wife requested Parmezan for her spaghetti bolegnese, she was ignored. She said it was tasteless. Both times we went, the staff were surly. They were clearly impatient with the customers. Even when the menu item was not available, they were irritated. Won't come back.

Hotel situated in great place. That’s only one good thing… food every day the same-for breakfast and dinner; and made from not good quality products . Rooms are not cleaned and all they do for cleaning is changing bed sheets and towels. Floor was never washed with mop. bedside shelf with cobwebs. If U treat this place like only place to sleep and drive for trips , u will survive .ive never been in such neglected hotel

We spent one week at the "hotel", we had breakfast and dinner there. It was tasteless, there was too much oil everywhere and the food wasn't fresh at all. We travelled with a group of 30 people, after the third day everybody started feeling sick and had fever. After that we found out it was because of the food, and it was food poisoning. The breakfast and the dinner is nearly the same every second day. The staff at the restaurant was very unfriendly and rude. I wouldn't recommend this place at all.

The location is beautiful but that's about it. We did 8 days in July, I read the mixed reviews and thought it can't be that bad, some people are just hard to please. Well.. the rooms are clean and basic, on arrival our shower holder was broken and needed repairing, the mattress we had was uncomfortable as you could feel the springs. Aircon is an additional 8 euros a day and not the best and leaked water when in use. The pool is small, limited sun loungers with sun umbrellas are attached to the fence and cannot be moved depending on the sun. By afternoon the pool water is far to warm to cool off in 30+ temperatures. I found it odd the pool guy would come clean the pool at 9am, when the kids are waiting to get in. Surely cleaning and maintenance should be done in the evening after pool closure to allow the chlorine to settle ? They are blessed with one nice man at the reception who gave us suggestions on day trips. The rest of the staff are unwelcoming, miserable and rude, the bar lady has some serious issues and needs to work on her customer service, no smile, just 'what do you want' attitude. You would have more beverage sales with a welcoming smile on your face. The holiday was half board and I was so disappointed by the food. I am vegetarian and my options were very limited, on my first night my mains consisted of oily potatoes, rice and peas. Similar food options every day, everything was made with the cheapest ingredients. Chicken wings, chopped up meat carcase, overcooked dry fish, soft overcooked veg, dry pasta, rice and no vegetarian dish options. At the salad area there was chopped lettuce, cucumber, tomato and shredded cabbage and their version of 'tzatziki' I believe made up of sliced cucumber and topped with greek yoghurt. We are in Greece, not once was there any feta or olives available.. ? Dessert was always watermelon and a tray of baked dry cake. There is no food descriptions or allergy signs, at my first breakfast I had some of the tray baked omelette, which I discovered half way had a thin layer of polony meat in it. The drinks station for coffee, water and mix on juice is only available at breakfast. On our last day the juice machine was not working, only water and coffee was available. Palm Bay Hotel has so much potential, it is very sad that someone is ruining their reputation with such bad service and terrible food. Unfortunately I would never return to that hotel, but I hope the Owner/Manager takes the reviews on board and sorts out the food and customer service. All the best.

Just when you thought Crete had universally good service, reasonable prices and quality drinks, you find a place like Palm Bay to reset your expectations. Miserable staff became comically ironic when the drinks came out, as though the disappointment with the drinks manifested through the waiting staff attitude and vice versa. We didn't have food as 3 tables left almost all their food, which suggested to us to eat elsewhere, which we did. 2 stars for the lovely flowers and setting. Given the are so many fantastic places to eat and drink within 5 mins, you have thought this place would try better. But they didn't. Best to avoid.

The review is for the restaurant. One star for the location, the other star ia for the friendliness of the waiter. The rest is a disappointment, the food is tastless and definately not worth the money. Für 28 euros my expectation was that ghe salon would be really good. It was as dry as dust, what a shame!
