Need a car . Couples in their 50s extremely loud at 2am. Bar staff are very friendly, Breakfast not enough different fruits. Too many chips with the evening meals . A couple of meals were overcooked Hated the bathroom. Plug stuck in basin sink so couldn’t use . Bathroom needs refurbishing. Nothing to cook on. Paid an extra 170 euros for tax, air con late stay, and safe . Taxi was coming at 9 out of the room by 6. Towels are rough. No hand towels.Bathroom could have been cleaner. I wouldn’t come back here.

What an amazing place to holiday. Manos Costa and all the staff are so friendly nothing is to much trouble. A lot of returning guests, you arrive not knowing anybody but leave as friends. Very clean, relaxing pool area comfy sunbeds and plentiful. Food very good price & portions.

Had a lovely holiday at the Real Palace. We were family with 2 teenage daughters aged 16 and 14. Pool was lovely nice size and warm. Plenty of sun loungers. Nice walk into the Old Town. Manos was very welcoming when we arrived. His daughter and son were also very friendly. Kostas was so friendly to and chatted to us every evening. Food was freshly prepared every day and was so tasty and healthy. Nice vegetarian choices. I would highly recommend staying.

Decent rooms but the toilet was horrific mold on shower curtains on the walls shower head was leaking at the side charged 70 euros for aircon and tourist tax don’t recommend

Had a great time here. Went early in the year so it was nice and quiet. The staff were very welcoming and had a good laugh with the barman a couple of nights. I had a couple of dinners there and the food was really nice. I liked that the hotel was a bit away from the main strip. I would visit again but I don't tend to go to the same places.

We have just come back from this hotel in Malia and what can I say fab hosts couldn’t do enough for us during our stay there, hotel is clean, tidy, great housekeeping, ate there a few times and food was great and plenty of it. This is a vibe hotel but the youngsters didn’t bother us as we were young once and did the same thing after exams. The old town is quite close with lots of tavernas, two shops near by and just a ten minute walk to the ***** with loads of great places to eat and drink especially one pub called Street with great hosts and lovely staff serving you. We will be back and thanks again.

Went here in June 2025, with a family member. Everything you require is in the rooms, pans, plates, cutlery, safe. etc. Large pool and plenty of sunbeds, even a massive lawn that you can sunbathe on. It's a 25 minute walk to the nearest, but overcrowded beach, but quieter beaches are available after another 10 minutes. Pottamos beach being my favourite, to the right of the Port of Malia. Nearest supermarket is a 5 minute walk away. Food at Real Palace is good and at a reasonable price. The hotel is situated on the outskirts of old Malia, and lots of guests had hire cars or bikes, as an avid walker I didn't mind the walking. I would recommend this Hotel, with special shout outs to Manos the owner, and Mike and Costar who manned the bar all day.

Can I say Excellent!!!!
Manis and his staff was perfect. I got help with whatever I needed and whatever I didn’t understand as an English only speaker, they were quick to translate and explain.This trip was my first time in Europe and I felt very safe as a solo traveler. I slept with my balcony door open because it was so cool and I never needed the a/c. Yes there is a charge for usage but it was not needed during my stay. Breakfast was good with a lot of options. I would recommend a stay here and I will definitely be back next year.

Well, what can I say. We have travelled all over the world and the level of service here is unmatched. This is a true hidden gem. The owners obviously take a lot of pride in maintaining the accommodation and the grounds as everything is immaculate. The food is excellent and the bar is super friendly. We will be back. Absolutely lovely place to stay, Manos and Kostas were brilliant and couldn’t do enough for everyone. We ended up eating in the hotel bar most evenings as the weather was rubbish for most of our stay. The food was fab and cooked by a wonderful lady ( I didn’t get her name) The room was perfect for what we needed and kept lovely and clean. We had a corner room and even had 2 balconies! I would definitely recommend Real Palace to anyone if you don’t mind a little 10 minute walk to the shops and tavernas. For our first trip to Crete, staying here has definitely made us want to come back.
