Smaragdine Beach Hotel in Stalis

One star for the location. Unfortunately, we had a horrible experience here. We booked the whole trip via a travel agency and were supposed to get a room with a side sea view and air conditioning at the hotel with a swimming pool. As we arrived, we were welcomed to the room with a view of the loud neighborhood on the opposite side of the road. The swimming pool has been removed 5 years ago, and on the top was that we have to pay for air conditioning (8€ per day). We decided to complain to the travel agency. We still don't know what was the real reason why we didn't get the booked room, because the hotel owner presented at least 3 different reasons to us and the travel agency. The worst was his countless dialogues and monologues bothering us. He talked to us every single time we were passing through. He was blaming us, saying that people from Germany always complain (avoiding the fact that we are not Germans) and trying to convince us, that we should “just pay and enjoy the holiday”. I have a question then: Why couldn't he just give us the right room and let us use the a/c for free, as stated in the booking? 😄
The hotel owner offered us another room with a better view for 20€ extra.
4 days later he decided to change a room for us for free of charge because he was getting so many calls from our travel agency during our stay. Finally, by the checkout he calculated somehow a/c for one day more. The same with a city tax. The sir declaring that money doesn’t matter, couldn’t lose the opportunity to get some Euros extra.
About the hotel itself: sometimes dirty sheets (see the foto), with an extra tiny bathtub and weak shower. The fridge is a little cool inside and hot outside. The beds are unbelievable hard. We have never found a remote control for the tv. Maybe guests should also pay for it. Never again.

I want to share this is the most terrible place where I have been, they are very rude, evil people, I don’t recommend this place, there is no respect for tourists, it’s a pity that my acquaintance in Crete was exactly like that, that’s why this place is on the black list

We stopped the car for a while without getting out of it with my family and a gentleman came from the goldsmith's shop who told us, don't park here, friend, it's our hotel area (in Greek) while he immediately told us in foreign languages ​​no parking here . The above gentleman obviously did not understand that we are Greeks and spoke to us like that, while when we spoke to him in Greek and asked him to say at least one sorry, he replied that I will say sorry wherever I want. Unfortunately unacceptable behavior at the beginning of the tourist season.
