If you know what to expect you won't get disappointed. The rooms are old and not worth it. But at least you get room service and all you can eat buffet (if you provided to get the full/half board). The side view room have a good view of the beach and the small islands. I'd say if you find cheaper places go anywhere else. Don't expect a 4 star hotel.

Astir plainly offers what you pay for. The facility has seen its better days, but that's pretty much its only/main con. Everything is clean (no funky smells, or heavy covering odors), things are maintained, the personnel is kind and willing to help, the food is good (a bit wider choice of fresh fruit would help). We stayed for one week and it was really nice. The furniture is a bit old, it's true, but it was no problem at all. Our own hotel were very mean and we had to check out at the morning while the transfer left at night! So this hotel let us pay for only a lunch buffet and then we could spend the whole day by this pool, but things and eat the buffet. Really nice staff who helped us

We have been to Astir Palace last year and we liked it. But this year our stay was even much better. Extraordinary variety of food and very tasty. Very clean, every day cleaning of the room. Very polite staff. Free Wi-Fi already, free AC already ( in comparison with last year, it was paid). Free safe already. First line hotel, the perfect place for vacation and rest. See you next year. The hotel staff are so friendly. We had a very comfortable stay. There isn’t much choice of food for breakfast and evening meal. However there are plenty of restaurants near by and the locals are so welcoming. Hotel in great location onto the sea front. Room was also clean.

Signs should be put up notifying payment for where to payfor sun beds around the hotel and pool area .Not just some women turn up asking for money .Owner aggressively arguing with staff by the pool cafe as soon as we arrived which we found horrendous and very unprofessional as paying customers don’t want to hear this whilst on their holidays to relax ,hotel very basic 3 star .could do with coffee...

I was in june 2023. It's a clean hotel, but not a 4 star hotel. I had an emergency night here due to a jet2 plane issue. It was very dated. Bed was OK. But decor leaves a lot to be desired. Having read some of the poor reviews I was a little worried about coming here, but I needn't have been. The location could not be better; the place is spotlessly cleaned and the food is just fantastic. The hotel is on the hill, a perfect location with the fantastic view to oversee the entire Zakynthos town and harbor. Very nice staff, but the hotel needs serious renovations. The bathroom is moldy and not descaled. All the water is from the sea and extremely salty. We had a bad first impression with our check in. The receptionist was rude and unhelpful, and this continued for the week. Spacious and bright room, great location

The room is quite big. The sea view room you booked can see the sea. Across the road from the hotel is a long beach coastline. The tap water on this island is too salty to even rinse your mouth. The driver who picked me up at the airport said that you must not drink the tap water, even if it is boiled, and the hotel does not provide free drinking water.

It is a pretty good hotel that can be booked in the off-season. The room is not too big, there is free parking, it faces the sea, it is not far from the port and the airport, and the breakfast is also rich.

Very happy we stayed here, good location only a few minutes from town. All staff very friendly and professional. The best breakfast we had in our 2 week trip. Just over the road from a pebbly beach but there are two points on the way into town where you can access the sea for those that like a swim. A good choice

We are just back from another stay at Villa Contessa. We always have such a quiet and relaxing holiday there. All needs are catered for by the wonderful host Spiros. He booked our car hire and a taxi to the airport. Also little things like a bottle of water and some wine in the fridge for our arrival. Everything is good in the hotel and the location is perfect. But the shower setting is quite low and shower area is small. During the showering, one hand is needed to hold the shower head.

The location is definitely good, and the front desk is quite polite. But the facilities are a bit old. The air conditioner is facing the TV, and it won't turn on if you don't close the door. You still have to use your own shower gel and shampoo, but I didn't use them despite looking at the facilities.

Another visit the Palmyra did not disappoint, a well run hotel with spacious rooms with waterfall showers in the bathroom. Complimentary toiletries are nice bonus . One of my favourite places I have stayed. La caretta despite being on the main road of alykanas is quiet. Exactly what I wanted. It’s clean and facilities are ideal. Staff are so friendly and classic Greek friendly hospitality. I can’t wait to be back.

The best hotel in alykanas, we’ve stayed there a few times over the past couple of years. The owners are amazing, friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. The rooms are lovely clean and modern. They are located in the centre of Alykanas, which was perfect for us, with a short walk to the beach. We wouldn’t stay anywhere else.
