Zakantha Beach in Argasi

Not a 4 star.......please do not be fooled by this because you will be greatly disappointed. The hotel staff where fantastic The hotel itself was extremely dated and needs much TLC but......staff ......service........go above and beyond. Now the problem starts with finance you think I've booked all sorted and then it starts * Safety box 20 euro a week * Air condition 50 euro a week * Tax 49 euro a week So if you stay a fortnight that's an extra 238 euro added to holiday that's going to set you back for lunch and expensive drinks. What I thought was a wee cheap week away turned out to be a £ 2000 holiday I wasn't expecting. The place is stunning but 25 years out dated. A special mention to Eoanna......you are a super 🌟 🤩. On the seafront in good location.Rooms basic but clean.Staff very friendly.Classed as 4 🌟, I thought maybe 3 🌟. Tax for the rooms i found expensive,140 EUro for 2 weeks.

We had a bad first impression with our check in. The receptionist was rude and unhelpful, and this continued for the week. Everyone we spoke to had had the same impression, nobody knew her name she was known as ‘the blonde one’!! Other than her the room was acceptable, but definitely only 3*. The bathroom is quite poor. The one room key is ridiculous! Paying for air con is ridiculous and expensive! Not enough free sunbeds! We would definitely like to praise Armando and Rudy from the beach bar. They were the best part of our stay, along with Flocas Cafe Bar across the road. You must visit and meet Andreas and his family! We would also like to mention how helpful Olga was on reception in the afternoons and Olga the cleaner. Overall we enjoyed our much needed rest from family stresses, but not sure we would rush back to Zakantha Beach but we would return to Argassi. Thank you

On arrival staff seemed friendly enough but €70 euro for hotel tax is a rip off, then to be told it’s another €7 per day for air con! Never once paid for air con in any other hotel in argassi Rooms ok and cleaned everyday, bathroom is a joke, having to stand in the bath to take a shower isn’t ideal as the baths are quite deep, not ideal for an elderly person, also shower head was fixed to the wall and moved all over when turning the power on full, trying to hold the head whilst showering isn’t ideal No sun beds available after 8 unless you wanna be in shade Breakfast was ok… we only ate in there twice better cafe across the road Our room was on the main road side so very noisy at night, also cleaners very noisy from 8am so no lie in and walls paper thin, could hear next room flushing toilet 🙄 Deffo not a 4 star and wouldn’t stay again

Checked into hotel and asked for an extra key card to the rooms as there was a party of 5 of us in case someone wanted to go back to the room whilst others were out. The rule in the hotel was one card to one room and leave key in reception when leaving hotel. One evening I was not well and went back to hotel whilst my friend had the key, the receptionist let me into my room but would not give me a card to put the lights, on. I was expected to clamber about in the room in the dark whilst being ill. She was very unhelpful and when I explained I was ill, the reply was it is not my problem and walked off. I had to call my friends who were the other side of town to return with the key card. So make sure you leave it in reception. For breakfast we had to sit on a table for four we asked to put another table together at 9.45am when the breakfast room was empty as it shuts bang on 10.00am, everything removed and turned off. We got an abrupt no we would have to sit inside. We were on holiday and wanted to sit out side. The staff attitude changed when we said it was not ideal, especially when the dining room was empty. Sunbeds became a challenge as towels were put on the sunbeds before 8.00am. Sunbeds available on beach at a charge of 15euros. We decided to walk up the road to Sky Fall, lovely thick sunbeds and no charge if you bought food or drink. You can reserve these with the Restaurant. Food and drink excellent. with lovely helpful staff. Some rooms in Hotel were overlooking a brick wall building. Ask for Seaview 110, 112. If staff had been helpful would have made a much more enjoyable holiday but hey ho Sky Fall made us more than welcome and a lot cheaper for food and drink for our last 5 days. Buy snacks and drinks in the supermarket across the road for your room. Cleaning staff were excellent. Shower gel supplied on the wall. Bring your own beach towels.
