My next place does not measure up at all. I've been spoiled.
The hotel is conveniently located near various restaurants, the famous hot dog place (Bæjarins Beztu Pylsur), the traditional market (Kolaportið), and the harbor where you can see the Coast Guard ships and other vessels. It's easy to get to all the major attractions. On Saturdays and Sundays, I highly recommend visiting the traditional market, just 3-5 minutes away. While I'm not sure if the antiques are genuine, it's a fun place to browse on a day off without a tour. I also recommend Sea Baron, a place right in front of the harbor that serves lobster soup.
Breakfast and light meals are available via room service, which is convenient.
