Description

Fosshotel Lind is a 3-star hotel constructed in 1975 and renovated in 2011, located in Reykjavik's Hlidar district. The hotel offers a range of room types including Standard rooms, Standard Triple, Standard Double, and Family rooms. Facilities include free WiFi, free parking, a restaurant, and a bar. Guests have access to luggage storage, laundry services, and a business centre with meeting facilities. The rooms are described as clean and comfortable but somewhat compact, with some reviewers noting limited electrical outlets and small bathrooms. The hotel provides heating and non-smoking rooms, catering to practical needs. While the service generally scores well, there have been occasional issues with late check-in procedures and breakfast to-go policies. Overall, Fosshotel Lind offers basic but solid accommodation suited for travelers seeking proximity to Reykjavik’s center at a reasonable price.

Nautholsvik Geothermal Beach is approximately 2.36 kilometers away. A bus stop right next to the hotel provides convenient access to local shuttle services and tour pickups, enhancing mobility for visitors.

not a very good experience with this hotel due to facilities and service provided.
we were caught up in a storm causing us to miss the first night of our check in. tried to ask for cancellation but not allowed, which was fair enough. And since we had to check out before 7am the next day, we asked if we can get 6 sets of breakfast to go (free breakfast included in our stay). Our request was declined because they only prepare 4 extra sets of breakfast to go everyday, no extras and if we need extras we need to let them know before noon the day before. we obviously did not know about this since we couldn't even check in previously and we reached past noon the next day. Not sure if it is part of the culture here but just want to let guests know that be prepared to not get any help or goodwill gesture for this hotel if you are faced with any last min delays/hiccups.
as for the facilities, there is quite a lack of plugs available in the rooms. the very limited ones available were quite out of reach too.

I think the hotel is a bit old with no dry and wet separation, but good location and nice staff there.

Well located and only a short walk to the city centre-old town. Bathrooms/shower is too small for use. Beds are comfortable. limited services offered at the accomodation.

The hotel is within walking distance of the pedestrian street. There are parking spaces next to the hotel. It's a typical three-star hotel.

The hotel has a great location, close to the surrounding area, including supermarkets, and there's a shuttle bus nearby.

In Iceland, where hotel prices are extremely high, this is a decent place to stay. The location is good, the room is small but clean, and the heating is sufficient. However, the hotel door closes after 11 pm and is opened after guests ring a bell, but the front desk staff were asleep, which wasn't good for making guests wait outside in the cold for a long time.

Overall, it was okay. The receptionist was nice, and the facility was quite good as well. However, please note that parking is limited. If you arrive too late, you may need to park outside, where payment is required until 9 PM.

The location is convenient, with its own parking lot. If you're only looking for accommodation in the city center, this is recommended because it's convenient to get around. By the way, the only place in Iceland with a ramen shop is Reykjavik.

The hotel has a good location with parking, and it's convenient to walk to the church at night. The breakfast is average. However, the front desk requires a credit card for check-in, which is a bit hard to accept. Also, the bathroom is cramped, making it difficult to unfold a suitcase, and water overflows when showering. It feels rather basic. Accommodation conditions in Iceland are indeed generally average.

The spirit of USA "bar food" cuisine is present, even if the accuracy of the combinations is a near miss. The mac & cheese was gourmet... and the burger topping. This initially seemed odd, until I considered the pulled pork topped burgers or breakfast burgers that are common specials back home. Well done guys!

Very tasty veggy burger. Greasy but amazing fries. 4 star because the restaurant randomly serves me either vegan or vegetarian burger when I order vegetarian. Both are good but one is better than the other. Recommended.

Honestly probably 1of the best burgers Ive ever had in my life
Loved the variety of burgers available.
I had the jack Daniels burger. It was amazing!!! Fries were super yummmmy..

Give this place a try, you might like it. I was a little skeptical about Icelandic BBQ, but trust me, the food is pretty good. 2,395 for 1/2 rack of baby back ribs (big portion) plus well made fries and fennel cole slaw. My barometer is if it tastes good as well as if it's satisfying. This place qualifies both. Oh, I got great service at the bar.

I had 2 pizzas in this town. First one was in "No name pizza" place, and that one was outstanding. In this pizzeria it was just normal, good pizza. So it is safe to visit. But... It is just normal...

Delicious wood fired pizza (you can see the pizza oven in the kitchen). Medium pizza was plenty for 1 person and reasonably priced compared to internationally well known pizza chains. Free fizzy drink refills. Staff are friendly and helpful. Only in Reykjavik for 4 nights, but having tried a few other restaurants here, we've decided to return to Eldsmidjan for our final night evening meal.

Best pizza we've had! Staff friendly, fast service and great tasting pizza, highly reccomend. Well worth it and get more than your moneys worth

This pizza spot is right on the main shopping street in downtown Reykjavik. Nice beer selection and laid back atmosphere. My only negative comment here is the sauce. Very basic with very little flavor. Crust was excellent.
21.06.2017 Richard
Summary based on one dinner:
-very good pizza, easily comparable to just about any expectation
-service upstairs friendly, but can be a bit slow when busy, which is understandable. We didn't have to wait for seating.
-medium sized is good for dinner, perhaps small. We mistakenly got a large & a medium after ordering two mediums and had enough for another dinner the next night. Take away box provided and we weren't charged extra for the large.
-typical prices for this area
-credit cards accepted
-didn't ask about wifi
-parking wasn't an issue since we walked

Excellent lobster soup, tasty porterhouse steak cooked to perfection. Staff is very pleasant and helpful. Ambient could benefit from some improvements.

Food was good, service was good, prices were as expected. Food prices in Iceland are very high compared to other countries, especially for beef. This premium steakhouse is no exception.

The service was pretty good compared to other restaurants I visited in Iceland.

Nothing about my experience was bad, but this isn't a *MUST GO* restaurant for tourists in Iceland.
