Description

Oddsson Midtown Hotel in Reykjavik offers a self-service experience within a modern, clean environment that scores high on cleanliness and amenities (9/10 each). The hotel provides various room types including Economy Double rooms, Single rooms, and Family Kitchenette rooms, accommodating different group sizes. Guests appreciate the convenience of free indoor parking in a garage requiring an access code, and fast WiFi is available throughout. The rooms are noted for being well designed, well lit, and supplied with excellent plumbing that avoids the typical sulfurous water smell common in Iceland. Breakfast is served daily from 7:00 to 10:00 and is widely praised for its freshness and variety, prepared on the same day rather than in advance. While the hotel lacks traditional front desk service due to its self-check-in system, the 24-hour front desk service is nominally present, and luggage storage is available. The overall guest rating is 8.7/10, reflecting a comfortable stay with minor drawbacks such as limited parking spaces and smaller room sizes.

This is a self-service hotel, so there's no front desk. However, the facilities are brand new, and the room isn't small. It even has its own parking garage, which makes for a very comfortable stay. The location isn't in the city center, but it's not far either – about a seven or eight-minute drive. Getting around is super convenient, as there's a bus stop right downstairs. Definitely recommended.

This is a self-check-in hotel. The breakfast is simple but filling, and the environment is quite nice. There's a parking lot, but you need a code to enter.

The room was clean and cozy, and there's a supermarket conveniently located near the hotel. The indoor parking was a huge plus, making parking very easy. The breakfast had a great variety, and the hotel staff were very friendly.

Location a slightly away from city centre however it’s convenient with car. Car park is available at basement with limited space. Breakfast was ok overall. The waffle and jam is delicious. Self check in but we didn’t encounter any issue during our late check in around 10pm.

Room is much smaller than expected, and the value for cost and parking facility is low but manageable.

Food came "too quick', not a very cozy place to have your dinner

Food was tasty but barely warm by the time it reached the table, which was a real shame as otherwise it would have been pretty good. Again pretty expensive in relation to UK prices, but probably about the norm for Iceland. Service was quick, but we were the only people in the reasturant until just before we finished.

Stopped in for some Pad Thai. Ordered by number in English, and she got the number wrong. Corrected her in Icelandic...twice. Food still came out wrong. Decided to eat it anyway, because I was with someone and they got their good. Ended up being the chicken cashew which was basically a brown sugar sauce that was so sweet I couldn't even eat it. Decided to douse it in sriracha to try and cover the taste...but the sugar even overpowered the sriracha. Wasted almost 4000 or to go home and eat a sandwich, which I should have done in the first place! I would give negative stars if possible.

Don't let the looks deceive, this place is as good as it is ugly! Amazing Thai food at a great price.
