Hotel Soleluna in Piano di Sorrento

My experience at this property was deeply disappointing. The receptionist was extremely rude and unaccommodating. It appears to be a family-run place with a strict check-in policy — if you don’t arrive by 8:00 PM sharp, even a delay of five minutes incurs a €10 per hour late check-in fee. After 8:00 PM, the reception is locked and unattended, leaving guests completely on their own. As a solo traveler, I found the lack of security very unsettling — anyone could access the area where rooms are located, as the entrance door stays open entire night, unattended and the only security you have is the card to get inside your room.

On my 17 days Italy trip, this was the only hotel where I had to buy the drinking water, the taste of the water in the sink was awful and there were no arrangements for drinking water on the property, even the 500ml water bottle kept in the room was charged at 1.5 Euros.

The room itself was poorly maintained, with cobwebs in the bathroom.

During breakfast, I inquired politely if cheese was available separately, as the existing options were served on the same platter with ham and beef and I am vegertarian. While I understand if they don’t offer it, what was unacceptable was the dismissive and mocking response I received when I mentioned my request was based on religious beliefs. I was told, “It’s not like you have allergies,” which I found extremely disrespectful. She (the receptionist) is the kind of person, always up for a fight.

This was one of the worst stays during my trip to Italy. I would not recommend this place, especially to solo travelers or those who value respectful service.
