Hotel Le Dune in Sabaudia

We were staying at the hotel begging of the October, so out of season time, and had a wonderful and peaceful stay. The hotel amenities, like pool and wellness were closed, but we had the beach and all the lounge areas almost for ourselves. The personal were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good, lunch and dinner menus delicious, but 90% of time without vegetarian options, so this is something that can easily be improved. The hotel could use some renovation, but also without it, one can appreciate its authenticity. All in all, very enjoyable.

Great place, visited first 28 years ago . Still great

I was so pleased to find that all the negative reviews were wrong. From the moment we were welcomed by the helpful, friendly staff at reception till we left, we encountered lovely staff, excellent facilities and an amazing breakfast. The rooms still have normal keys (nice as you dont have that issue with the power going off when you leave the room and take the card out of the socket). They are spacious. We stayed twice, once the end of May for 2 nights in a room overlooking the sea with a big terrace and then we returned a week later, in June, just for one night. This time with a garden view and terrace. We often come to Sabaudia and this has now become our go-to hotel, a lot to do with the really lovely staff but everything else as well - spacious, has a nice pool, lots of places to sit in and outside. Even had a spa with aperitivo on our last afternoon.

A very nice stay at this hotel. The service was fantastic, everyone was so nice and the food was amazing. Thank you to Roberta in the restaurant, she was so nice! We would love to come back again, the only minus was that the beds was too hard for me so my hope is that they provide extra madrass to on top of the beds or change some of them to softer.

Hotel Le Dune is a time capsule, summarily capturing the romanticised version of Italy that’s been depicted in films, time again.

The original character has been skilfully preserved, whilst offering the practicality and comfort of modern living.


At first glance, the unacquainted may consider it dated. However, once you willingly immerse yourself, you realise the charm of something humbly antic.
