Livia Valeria Palace in Rome

Good and Bad....

Firstly, let me start by saying that Livia Valeria is a beautiful property! Once the gates open you are greeted by lush flowers and green grass- its like an oasis and very welcoming. The buildings look brand new, lovely clean lines- all very modern and crisp.

The check in was absolutely fine, we were greeted by Max who was great.

The interior of the hotels public areas, were as beautiful as the outside- lots of french antique furnishings to marvel over. Again, it was very clean and crisp and felt like new.

The room we had was VERY spacious, perfectly clean and welcoming- lots of towels! Bathroom was great- modern and contemporary and again spotless with a powerful rain shower.

Now for the not so good.....THE POOL....or lack off.

We were a little dissapointed on day 1 to be told that the pool was refilling, with a hose and very slowly at that. When we arrived at 2pm the pool was half full and wasn't filled properly until 6pm, which was too late for us as we had dinner reservations at 7.

The next day, which was our last- the pool was OUT OF ORDER due to a leak which had caused it to drain overnight. So both days we didnt get the pool we had paid for.

Not the hotels fault but also not ideal for guests that had chosen to stay specifically for the pool access. There were a lot of unsatisfied people.

This isnt the first time the pool hasnt worked so the hotel need to get a handle on it as it is seriously letting down, what otherwise is an exceptional place.
