We stayed at Montespina Park Hotel after our road trip through Puglia. The hotel is very isolated — no shops or restaurants nearby, and quite far from the historic center and public transportation. You’re pretty much forced to have dinner on-site. Paying €25 for a plate of carbonara or bolognese pasta is a bit much. The hotel also blocks deliveries from outside restaurants. Our room was very far from the reception, requiring two elevators to reach it. It was dark and even a bit sketchy. It might have been a 4-star hotel 15 years ago, but definitely not today. The place felt almost deserted. The staff was also not really welcoming.

We have recently come back from Napoli and used this hotel as our base! I was worried about staying here due to the negative views and simply put the reviews are a result of those suffering to karenitus. This hotel was lovely and so peaceful! We had the best of both worlds. Naples on the door sleep and a pool hotel for down time and chilling. It isn't quite in the city centre but that was misinformation from our airline/holiday provider. The bar staff and restaurant staff were absolutely lovely. Very accommodating and happy to help. The rooms were comfortable and I'd describe it as traditional Italy styled rooms. Breakfast was complimentary and there was something for everyone, fresh fruits, generals, freshly prepared hot options and of course the cold meats and cheese, breads and pastries. The pool bars, snacks and hotel bar were great value and not too expensive. The pool food was quick snack food where as the restaurant offered beautiful fresh Italian dishes. The restaurant however was a more expensive than going out and eating in Naples itself.

Highly recommend and I will be back.

The hotel has many good points for example helpful friendly staff but feels badly managed, leading to a failure to maintain consistently good standards. We never saw anyone in charge overall.

We love the safety and solitude of the property. Conveniently located near the Bagnoli shopping area.

Excellent hotel! Even better staff! Paola the hotel manager was an excellent hostess who provided nothing but the best service! Immediately we were welcomed and felt at home! Giuseppe and Dina were also very accommodating, especially with our young children!

Food was incredible, rooms were clean and all staff was very friendly! Well maintained property and very family friendly!

Pool was also great! Highly recommended!

My wife and I spent to days at Montespina Park Hotel relaxing by the pool. The pool was clean and at the perfect temperature. We lounged poolside with nice cocktails and lite food. The staff at the pool and restaurant were amazing! Luca, Giuseppe, and Barbara were fantastic and always helpful! The timing for our stay was perfect with US tourist already returning to the states and the Italian families mainly at the beach during this period in late August! We met a nice couple from Paris and a family from Prague who were very friendly. We couldn’t have asked for more! The hotel was recommended by a friend Faby Aprea, who I have known for a long time. Perfect recommendation! Mille Grazie, Faby!

We stayed at Montespina Park Hotel, Naples, and overall it was a very disappointing experience. First of all, when booking through EasyJet Holidays we were told the hotel was less than a mile from central Naples. This is completely misleading — it’s actually a half-hour train ride away, and the nearest station (Bagnoli) is about a 10–15 minute walk from the hotel. The walk itself is far from picturesque. It’s advertised as a 4-star hotel, but that really needs to be reviewed. The photos online look beautiful, but the reality is very different. The hotel is dated, with a strange clash of styles — a mix of some modern touches alongside lots of tired 1980s burgundy décor. When we arrived, we were told check-in wasn’t until 3pm, even though all the booking documentation stated 2pm. We had booked the “uber-trendy” split-level quadruple room so our family could stay together. Instead, the concierge first tried to give us two dated, tired double rooms, which were absolutely not what we had paid for. When we refused, he attempted to put us in a so-called larger room consisting of a double bed, a sofa bed, and a camp bed — again, not what we booked. Only when we stood firm and showed him the pictures of the room type we had reserved did he admit that the guests in our room had decided to extend their stay, so it was unavailable. Eventually, he gave us a “superior” split-level room and warned us we might need to move mid-stay. We made it clear we would not. The room itself was modern, clean, with a lovely shower, but it had major drawbacks: nowhere to put suitcases, no safe, no proper wardrobe space, and only a small toilet upstairs. The restaurant was another let-down. Dinner options were limited, overpriced, and unappealing, while breakfast was repetitive and uninspiring. The only real positive was the staff — mainly overworked migrant workers — who were unfailingly kind and helpful despite the difficult circumstances. Transport is another issue. Be very wary of cabs from the airport: some drivers asked €100 for the 20-minute ride to the hotel. We eventually found one at €60, but the drive itself was hair-raising. If you’re brave enough to book this hotel, I’d strongly recommend arranging a transfer in advance. Finally, the concierge let us down badly when booking us a restaurant on a public holiday. He arranged a taxi there, but didn’t mention that it would be virtually impossible to get one back. What should have been a 15-minute ride turned into a two-hour ordeal involving the local police to get us home. Overall, despite some positives (cleanliness, nice shower, hardworking staff), the negatives far outweighed them. Between the misleading location, the questionable 4-star rating, dated décor, room chaos, poor dining options, transport headaches, and unreliable service, I would not recommend Montespina Park Hotel and would suggest giving it a miss.

⭐️⭐️ (2 stars)

Advertised as a 4-star hotel, but that really needs reviewing. The glossy photos look great, yet in reality it’s a dated mix of modern touches and 1980s burgundy décor. Location is also misleading — it’s a 30-minute train ride from central Naples, with a 10–15 minute walk to Bagnoli station.

We booked a split-level quadruple room but were initially offered tired, outdated doubles and then a makeshift room with a sofa bed and camp bed. Only after insisting did we get something close to what we paid for. Even then, there was no safe, little storage, and only a tiny upstairs toilet.

Food was overpriced and unappealing, breakfast repetitive, though the hardworking staff were lovely. Transport is another headache — airport cabs tried to charge €100 for a 20-minute ride (we managed €60 but the drive was terrifying). If you do book, arrange a transfer in advance.

Overall, the hotel is not worth the price, and I would suggest giving it a miss.

Had a great 10 day holiday staying here in august 25. Hotel was quiet (a bit too quiet in evenings due to not many guests and lack of any atmosphere, no music, entertainment or full time bar staff).

Breakfast was good, plenty of choice, the usual continental, along with hot eggs bacon sausage scrambled egg and fruit options.

Pool was fantastic - quiet all week, busier at weekends when locals were there for the day. No bed blocking at anytime - which was great! Pool bar for drinks (€5 can coke, food was way too expensive (€8 for pizza slice! Can get full pizza next door to hotel for less!). Pastry shop for light lunches was great - it’s just down the road from hotel, but it was shut a couple of days into our holiday for the rest of the month!

Cost of food and drink were high at hotel, so we only ate there one evening, and only bought drinks a couple of times due to the cost. (We were literally only people sitting out at hotel a couple of evenings, staff were packing away parasols at 9:30pm on two occasions it was that quiet!)

Rooms were ok, we had 2 tv in our apartment so it felt a bit like a tv showroom (one on the wall wasn’t working) and tv in kids room didn’t have any sky/Channels.

Bathrooms were a bit dated with multicoloured tiles from the 80’s, and we had issues with hot water/shower and very fragile bath and broken handrail.
Rooms were cleaned daily which was great - cleaners worked hard from what I saw. 👏
Staff were great - big thank you to the lovely Nigerian young lady working at breakfast and at the pool bar almost every day - she was very professional, attentive, friendly and helpful at all times (I actually thought she was British due to her brilliant English). I’m hoping she may be in hotel management the next time we go as she was brilliant during our stay! 👏 🥇

Don’t think it’s a 4* hotel, but we enjoyed our stay overall and would Reccomended if you wanted a nice quiet few days away - would happily go again - just dont expect much socialising/partying at the bar in the evenings.

12-15 mins walk to train station, 15-25min train to Naples centre, we used the 7day unlimited train ticket at €16 which covered all trains, bus in Naples area. Pozzuoli was also great - just one stop on the train further down the coast.
