Hotels on first line in Italy

It is very quiet, and people are running in the early morning. The transportation is convenient, and the nearby bus and light rail are good to go everywhere. The key is that the breakfast is particularly rich

The nearest metro station is Eur Palasport which will take you to all the tourist sights. The reception staff was very kind to make me an espresso in the morning as the coffee machine was not working

Traveling to Rome, I unexpectedly booked this Ibis, which is exceptionally good value. It is less than a kilometer walk from the subway. The hotel is next to a quiet community on a high ground

The hotel staff were very kind and I was able to check in early as my flight to Rome was early, this helped a lot as I was able to freshen up before visiting the sights

Suitable for business, although the subway is not close by walking distance, but the price is good. The distance to the surrounding attractions is acceptable

If there is no taxi, it is very inconvenient. If you are a free traveler who walks a lot, it is difficult to take the subway because the area gets dark quickly in the winter and the shopping district is far away

Sea views from here are just stunning, mainland Italy in the distance. Staff helpful but aloof or dour. Food overpriced for what it is - dining with a delicious view. Rooms 3 star, the essentials. Take a small kettle

Hotel was in a great location in Taormina.  Valet parking was very useful.  Breakfast was great - lots of traditional Silcilian items on offer including delicious cakes and easter biscuits.  Would definitely recommend.

The guy at the front desk upgraded us to a room with a sea view balcony. The swimming pool was also very good. The breakfast was also very rich. The room was not big but had all the facilities

The breakfast buffet is excellent, and there's an outdoor pool with sun loungers. Check-out is unusually early – 10:30 AM, but we were allowed to stay 40 minutes longer

Great hotel in a great location, close to the city center with a swimming pool. The only downside was the air conditioning which we couldn't get working in our room...

The hotel is in a good location, close to the city, the staff is very friendly, the environment is very good, the price is very good, the breakfast has many choices and tastes good! Recommended! The sanitation is good, and the room is spacious and new!

The stay at Club Dante was perfect. The service was five stars, the food was delicious, and there was a different lunch and dinner every day. Thank you to the Club Dante staff for the excellent experience

The hotel was great! Hotel staff are all friendly and accommodating! It was right in front of the beach and a few steps from a marina where there are several shops and restaurants! It’s quite near to the Fiumicino (Leonardo da Vinci) Airport

The hotel is located 10 km from Fiumiccino airport, if you have a long layover it is very convenient, relatively inexpensive, near the sea. Delicious breakfast overlooking the sea. You can stroll along the embankment

There's plenty of room for strolls, and the sea is practically on your doorstep

I'm glad I didn't get a beach view, the music at the beach across the street was quite loud late, but didn't keep me up. Front desk was pleasant and competent

The room was clean and the furniture was decent. But keep in mind that there are houses next to the hotel, practically balcony to balcony. Locals look in on you, and you look at them

The staff is friendly and helpful. They helped me print out a plane ticket and called a transfer. The room is clean, warm, quiet

Lovely hotel. A little noisy as ubisi from the road, but everything brightens up the wonderful artificial sand beach and convenient location for trips by car in any direction

The beach is not private but it's beautiful, it should be advertised as semi private. The rooms are very pretty but this isn't a five star, I left very disappointed in the dinner

As for other comments about the hotel: service was exceptional, both the front of house, at the beach and the breakfast servers. Everyone was so attentive, kind and polite

My husband and I stayed here for our 15th anniversary. This hotel is nice, but not a 5-star hotel. I don't know how they received this rating

My warning to those staying here, especially during the hot summer months, that you check on reviews and with the hotel directly to determine how well the air conditioning functions (if you have trouble sleeping in warm, sticky, humid rooms)

I would have given this five stars, however, on our first night, after we checked in to our second level suite, the temp would not go below 28. We had little to no sleep that night, as the room was so hot and humid

The location is perfect and the beach is inside one of the most beautiful marittime nature reserves of Sicily

All inclusive. No A/C in rooms during our stay. Rules with energy use. Heat was bearable with windows open.

I found the staff exceptional, able to engage even the most timid and ensure a fun time! Beautiful beach and large, relaxing pools

Beach ia beautiful but there's a city run off and it washes into the ocean near by the hotel so water isn't safe at all times and has a funky smell

I returned many years later and must say I was just as delighted as I was then! Clean rooms, lots of good food, waiters, bartenders, and everyone else at the hotel always had a smile that made you relax

Great pool area great food but they could make so much more of it if they wanted. Their beach crowded, not organised. Transportation to and from good

I visited Calampiso resort with my family and had a good time. There's a big room for improvement, the hotel needs renovation, but the beach, food and evening programme was great

A beautiful place in the middle of nowhere! Though tired and in need of a lot of tlc, this is a lovely resort. Don't expect 4 star accommodation, especially in the majority of self catering apartments

However the staff are brilliant. When we came 20 years ago no one spoke English. Now most of the staff are quite fluent. This is an Italian family resort. Don't expect multi linguistical menus etc

The staff of the hotel was friendly and helpful. I enjoyed my stay and therefore I recommend this hotel for family vacations to you

They could use electric vehicles for staff to get about as the motorised ones are too noisy. Employ staff that took responsibility and the reception at least wear a shirt that advertised her employer not another resort

One major downside is that the beach bar is not included in the all-inclusive package, so you have to pay for drinks there

Another issue is the shuttle train to the beach, which runs only every 30 minutes – the long wait is inconvenient

The beach is really nice, fine sand, plenty of sunbeds with umbrellas, ideal entrance to the sea, no stones. A big plus is the possibility to rent a paddleboard or kayak for free

Nice pool and thermal baths! Get the ground floor rooms facing the exterior garden, they’re so peaceful and recently renovated

My wife doesn't eat fish or seafood and mainly eats chicken, which was about twice during the entire stay. There were days when she only ate potatoes and grilled peppers for lunch

However, there is also a big minus, which is that it is not possible to use the all-inclusive at the beach bar - so you have to pay for drinks on the beach

Worth upgrading - even paying additional for a premium room or an entry level suite category overlooking the sea. Outdoor pool is pleasant and a favourite of guests. Good service standards - slightly "old style" formal

We had an absolutely incredible stay at Grand Hotel Quisisana—truly one of the best hotel experiences we’ve had. We were celebrating a birthday and anniversary, and the team went above and beyond to make it unforgettable

My preferred place to stay when in Capri. Love the design and the centrality. Drinks in the evening are great too. Gym is pretty nice and the poolside is great and well serviced.

Every detail felt intentional and genuinely kind. The hotel itself is stunning—perfectly located, beautifully maintained, and full of classic Capri charm. The spa was excellent and a great way to relax during our stay

Service across the board was exceptional—warm, attentive, and seamless

Honestly I would come back just to stay in the room. We were impressed with every aspect except the pool which was sublet and they were not very nice. The service, concierge and everything else was perfect

Paradise The staff is amazing. Very professional and detail oriented. The resort is top notch with beautiful pools and a private beach. The food was fantastic. Will definitely be back

Beautiful clean facilities, with three pools and access to the beach Excellent breakfast options. Rooms were clean. Two restaurant options. It's an oasis in Puglia.

We never struggled for a sunbed and you are placed in the rows according to your level of room/ suite. We loved our suite, very high specification, looked like it’s been recently refurbished

Unfortunately the beach club does not offer any service at the beach and some basic water facilities would be useful instead of having to walk back to the beach restaurant and pay for premium water

Although this hotel is lovely, very clean, with stunning pools and a nice restaurant, I cannot recommend it for families. The lifeguards were extremely rude to the children and seemed to dislike any noise at all

The bottom pool became unusable due to the area near the pool being used as breakout sessions with flip charts. My wife and I work in the corporate environment, and a holiday is to escape this type of thing

The whole hotel has a vintage and classic feel, but has been maintained superbly. Our room was spotless and was cleaned every day, which was a nice touch. Breakfast had a nice variety of sweet and savoury items

Right in the center. A good pool is available at the neighboring hotel. They have an agreement. The breakfasts are excellent, with a view of Lake Maggiore. The room overlooks the stairs to the courtyard. And it's small.

Handy for touring the region on either local boats, busses, and trains ( train station is a 10min walk) Food/service fantastic, the hotel does cater for coach parties which can make the resteraunt noisey in the evening, they were gone before we made breakfast!

Fantastic place to use as a base to see lake Magguri, on the front handy for lake shuttle boats and busses, road can be busy, we were on the back overlooking the quaint old town which is great, loads of cafes, bars and resteraunts

This hotel is located in a great location, beautiful views of the lake and the staff is outstanding! The trains went on strike the day of our departure and the staff worked for hours to find us alternative transportation

It’s a very clean hotel, the staff is amazing, Archangelo was our friend and was very helpful throughout our time there. The location is also very nice very close to the beach. And the bartender is the best

DJ Music blasting at the pool area till 12 midnight Annoying … even ear plugs weren’t enough to quell it

Wrist bands for lunch/dinner options that were never ending - I've never had so many food options ever. And that pool! Just wow! Also, a special hats off to the two head baristas. They ran breakfast like clockwork

The pool is ok , enough sun loungers around. You can rent towels or bring your own. The beach is like 10 min walk through the field and unfortunately is covered in mountain of dry seaweed

The pool and nearby areas were clean and well-kept. The location was great, with many beautiful beaches just a short distance away

The presence of "posidonia" on the beach was unfortunate but nobody's fault and there are several other beaches within walking distance

Always ready with a joke, especially for us aussies who are a little bit special with our coffee orders. I have since learnt that an espresso is the true base of every coffee

The staff were all welcoming and friendly, the cleanliness could not be faulted and the menu varied

What's not to like? - breakfast overlooking the rocks and the sea, sunbeds, parasols and a pool, with the bar and excellent food right on hand

A lovely hotel, right on the water's edge on the tip of the Schiso peninsula just outside the bustle of the town but an easy walk to the port and to the shops and town beaches

From start to finish the hotel exceeded our expectations. The location is great with the ability to walk into town or nearby beaches, whilst also being very peaceful

Facilities were good and it was nice to have the choice of swimming in the sea via the ladder or using the pool at a neighbouring hotel, and there were plenty of sun loungers

The room faced the pool, was very quiet, and kept clean and tidy by housekeeping. All the staff were very helpful and friendly, a big thank you to Giacomo on reception for his help trying to locate a case lost by BA

Room was compact, clean, and did the job, nice size outdoor balcony over looking pool area which we had paid for / requested. Room was fully serviced on a daily basis (Grazie!)

The hotel is completely child friendly, there were always some animation program for children and sometimes for adults also each days

We stayed here for the 12th time but for the first time in one of the amazing Sky Suites. It was definately worth the travel. It is not the cheapest hotel, but you get value fo rmoney

There are many convenience service like bike-rental, air flower for mattreass, child toys, baby carriage for walking in the city

The hotel looks old and not very appealing from the outside but once in the room it’s was good. Very clean. Polite and helpful staff. Very good location. Good size restaurant and also has a bar and lounge area.

Salvatore Pisani, the General Manager, met us when we arrived and showed us around our beautiful suite. He was very friendly and kind. There was champagne and wine and fruit and treats waiting for us in our room

Great location and excellent breakfasts. Room cleaning was good, though it's a shame they only provide one bottle of water. Many Russian-speaking staff members.

Fluffy scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage, delicious croissants and fruit, oh and the best illy coffee ever! Everything was delicious and a great way to start the day! Throughout our trip there were fruit baskets, wines, chocolate hearts and treats left in our suite when we were out

What a gem this place is! Very close to Rialto bridge water bus stop from the airport, and very close to St Marks Basilica and Square. Rooms are amazingly well presented, very spacious and very clean

From the moment we entered the hotel, we were welcomed very kindly and hospitably. The hotel is located at the seaside, on a beach where green and blue meet

They were all friendly and accommodating. The seafront view was priceless. Slept with the balcony doors open every night and listened to the waves. Watched the sun come up in the morning a few times also

The location of the hotel is perfect, steps down and your on the beach. Enough (free) sunbeds, basically private beach. Water is crystal clear!! Life savers working through the day watching the beach and pool

A beautiful, relaxing beachfront hotel just a few minutes away from Taoromina.

Great sandy beaches nearby, and crew will gladly take you down there and pick you up on electrical Jeep…What more does one want for a getaway? Thank you for your fantastic service and great hospitality - we want to come back again! It’s been true pleasure!

It’s kept spotlessly clean and the rooms are great. Our room had a sea view in the original LH and was amazing. The bed , circular in design, was one one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in

It’s a C19 lighthouse converted into rooms with a beautiful infinity pool and tranquil grounds. Perched on a promontory with its working lighthouse it has oodles of character and a lot going for it

Breakfasts, served by the pool are fantastic. But other aspects of the hotel need upgrading. Some fixtures and fittings are looking tired, and that’s not all that needs a refresh

My rental car got a flat tire 25 min from the Lighthouse and the hotel came and picked me up and arranged transfers for the rest of my stay and back to the airport for a new car rental

Absolutely amazing hotel and setting. The views are beautiful and it’s very quiet and relaxing. The rooms were clean and specious, food was delicious, and the service was fantastic

Nice storage space is provided. A small balcony, with side-sea views from all rooms. The bathroom needs investment, the shower is weak and very dated

The hotel has a rule of no outside drinks in these areas, but if you want to inforce this a pool bar should be provided, expecting guests to walk to reception, on the ground floor is a stupid idea

The decoration of the place, just like the bar area can only be described as an retirement home. Poor area:- Split on two level; sun deck on on and the swimming pool on the other

The Ipanema Hotel Taormina, Sicily is a traditional Sicilian Hotel with wood panelling. The rooms are spacious with wardrobe space, dressing table, mirrors, comfy beds. There are plug sockets and lights next to the bed

When you enter the dining room you get shown to your table, higher standards which are not needed when the lower hotel standards let you down. Overall, this could be a good breakfast with better quality produce

Dining area:- For a four-star hotel the breakfast should be better. Tinned fruit is a no-no for four-star. The coffee was also weak, not the high standard expected in Italy
