Reviews
This afternoon, when I was leaving, I gestured for the doorman to open the door, but he just turned and walked away. The service awareness was quite lacking. The view from the rooftop restaurant was indeed good, but I noticed obvious stains on the cutlery, and after ordering, I waited a very long time for the food to arrive. Both the hygiene and service didn't meet five-star standards, and the hotel breakfast was also very mediocre.
The room itself was very dusty; when I turned on the reading light, I could see a lot of white dust floating in the air. The cleaning was subpar.
The hotel elevators don't require a room key to access any floor, which made me feel very insecure as a guest. When I needed a new room key, it was handled casually in the lobby without any proper procedure.
Yesterday, I tried calling room service, and no one answered for a long time. I had to call the front desk three times before someone finally picked up.
The DND (Do Not Disturb) light outside my door was faulty, and the door hanger easily flipped to 'Please make up room.' Although housekeeping knocked in the morning, they still swiped their card and entered directly while I was changing, which infringed on my privacy. The large towel in the bathroom had stains and wasn't clean, and the toilet door in the room couldn't close properly. The hotel gym was also exceptionally small.
Furthermore, the living environment was not ideal. Around 11 PM, there was a lot of external noise, and I frequently heard doors slamming, which affected my rest. I also vaguely heard front desk staff talking about 'Asia-related' topics, though I didn't catch the full conversation, which further detracted from my stay. I have already contacted my travel agent to report the various issues encountered during this stay and hope the hotel will make improvements.
A definite highlight was the restaurant on the 7th floor. The panoramic views over Rome are absolutely breathtaking and created a spectacular setting for our lunch breaks. The food was delicious, and the service was attentive, making our meals a very enjoyable part of the day.
Combining efficient conference facilities with a stunning rooftop dining experience, this hotel is a top-tier choice for business events. I would not hesitate to recommend it for any professional gathering.
The room itself is beautiful — the ceilings are elegantly decorated, blending classic Roman charm with modern comfort. The location couldn’t be better: it’s just a short walk from the Spanish Steps, Villa Borghese Gardens, and other iconic spots. You can even enjoy panoramic views of Rome from the rooftop terrace — it’s breathtaking, especially at sunset!
Breakfast was another highlight, with a wide variety of delicious options — from fresh pastries and cheeses to hot dishes and great coffee.
Overall, Sofitel Roma Villa Borghese has luxury, comfort, and authentic Italian hospitality perfectly. Highly recommend it for anyone visiting Rome who wants a memorable and elegant stay near the heart of the city. The staff at the entrance was great. They also gave umbrellas to walk around when it was raining outside.
The hotel itself is spotless, modern, and beautifully designed, with all the amenities you could want to feel at home while traveling. When we entered our room, we were pleasantly surprised by how spacious it was, and even more impressed to find that a crib had already been set up for our son — something we usually have to request upon arrival. The sheets were fresh, and the bed was perfectly made for our little king.
Every detail in the room felt high-end — from the large soaker tub and rainfall shower to the double sinks and abundance of power outlets (a small but important thing when traveling in Europe). It was clear that every element had been thoughtfully considered.
Breakfast each morning was simple but perfectly executed, with fresh bread, pastries, meats, fruits, and vegetables — all enjoyed in a stunning dining room overlooking the city. We didn’t expect much of a view given the hotel’s location, but it was truly spectacular.
The staff went above and beyond throughout our stay, offering wonderful suggestions for walking tours, restaurants, and things to do around the city. Even though we were only there for a short time, they made us feel like long-time guests — and that level of hospitality is what truly sets this hotel apart.
We honestly wished we had stayed in Rome the entire week, simply because of how beautiful the hotel was and how welcome the staff made us feel.
If you’re looking for a 5-star hotel in a great location — just far enough from the busier areas to feel peaceful — that checks every box and goes above and beyond for its guests, look no further than Sofitel Roma Villa Borghese.
