Breakfast was an incredible spread; cocktails in the bar delicious.
Many reviews have said it is the staff and location that makes this hotel 5*. I would agree.
My only gripe is that on checking out a ‘discretionary’ €50 was added to our bill (on top of the usual €80 city tax we expected to pay). We like to tip as we go along.
There are a couple of things that I personally would like to see changed.
Welcome drinks on arrival to the hotel. When it’s 38° outside and guests have travelled all day, the hotel should at least offer water on arrival.
Breakfast - it’s disappointing for a luxury hotel that guests should be expected to pay extra for breakfast items like eggs to be made
Overall
I would 100% recommend Villa Grand Melia and would love to return for a 3rd time
