A decent three-star hotel with a great location. Helpful staff. Late check-out was allowed at no extra charge. Good breakfast. Heating and air conditioning worked. I recommend it. 6 minutes to the train station.

Location is awesome and the staff is wonderful.

Parking is challenging. You need a member of the staff to help enter the parking ramp.

The air conditioning works for 10 minutes then stops until it’s turned on again. Brutal in the summer.

Pleasant stay at the Alexander Hotel
Very nice traditional hotel with hard working, attentive staff. Wide choice at breakfast but always seemed a bit rushed. Lovely garden in which to enjoy a drink in the early summer sun. The only real negative was the bed’s mattress which was too soft and really needs to be replaced.
Hotel is very well positioned close to bars, restaurants and the main shopping street.

Lovely hotel
What a wonderful hotel. We really enjoyed our stay, the second time in a month. It’s in a very convenient location, close to the train station and local shops and restaurants. We enjoyed the spacious one bedroom suite with fridge and microwave. The bedding is comfortable and we were provided with lots of towels. The breakfast is generous with a variety of choices including scrambled eggs. The coffee is excellent. We enjoyed the pretty garden at the front of the garden, it’s a perfect spot to enjoy a cocktail. Thank you for remembering us when we returned for a second stay, we feel so welcomed at the Hotel Alexander.

My daughters’ comments: pretty, comfortable, really nice hotel. We stayed for one night for our very short trip to San Remo. The staff were so friendly and helpful. And you can tell that they care about customer service. They made sure we had a table ready at breakfast and offered us fresh coffee as we waited. They personally walked me to the parking garage and they worked really hard as a team to ensure everyone had a lovely breakfast outside even though it was raining. The room was perfect for our group (4 of us) and it was very comfortable and clean. The hotel is conveniently located near the beach and downtown area. Overall, an excellent stay!

A grand old hotel just off the seafront, very modern rooms, the staff were exceptionally good- they even parked our car for us ! A really nice breakfast / bar area outdoor- great location

I don't get the overly positive reviews. Very mediocre 3* hotel in my opinion. It seems like all the rooms are situated at the ground floor and directly by the street (or by the nice garden). They are a bit spacious but beds are incredibly small (probably 80cm), almost feels like a child's bed.
Rooms are also rather old, cabin shower is rather small and not nice to look at with various imperfections (not nicely covered mold spots, discoloured tiles etc.). The other reviews hyped me up for the breakfast which is also mediocre at best. The italian pastries are probably the best part of it, the coffee is utterly awful for an italian hotel. Such a shame. The selection one can choose from is rather small. The staff is very nice however and consists mostly of young people. Probably, because they are 'cheaper'. Though they did not permit to be outside in the garden at night which is not tolerable. This hotel is 2* superior at best in my honest opinion (and I've been to a lot of different hotels all around Europe).

Gorgeous boutique hotel in the heart of Sanremo. Generously sized, spotless rooms with high ceilings and large windows. Wonderful friendly service from the staff. Huge delicious selection for breakfast at tables outside the front of the hotel. Complimentary bicycles make getting to the public beaches very easy. Parking is not too far away and the staff made it easy to put away the car for the night. We stayed at Hotel Alexander twenty years ago (!) and again just now. How our lives have changed but not much as changed at Hotel Alexander … and we still love it. Be back again … hopefully a lot sooner.
