Hotel Villa Dirce in Limone sul Garda

Rooms are very Basic and tired. no Tea making, no Iron, no Toiletries, First time I stayed in a 4 star without any of the above. Toilet and Bidet are turned at an angle otherwise nobody would fit. The lift breaks down every day, got trapped until Edwardo freed me. Wi Fi is free but only works very early in the morning or late at night really bad reception.the Staff are excellent. very helpful, Jack (pronounced Jake) our waiter always had a smile. The Views are fantastic across the lake, without doubt the best thing about this hotel.

Stayed at this hotel for one week. Pretty average rooms. Wouldn't call it a four star though.More like three star. Very clean room with magnificent views. Hotel set in the side of a mountain. A decent walk into Limone where all the sops/restaurants etc were but not suitable for people with health problems with cannot walk far as it's quite a long walk and very steep in places. The foods a bit boring and menu needs improving as there's not much choice. Staff are very pleasant although some need further training regarding health & safety/hygiene. Wiping your nose and preparing food without washing your hands as one waiter did when I ordered toasted sandwiches is totally unacceptable! There was only three things on the menu for a snack at lunchtime. This hotel does not do full board just half board with afternoon tea each day. There's a safe in the room which you pay a €10 deposit for which is refunded at the end of your stay. Safe keys have your room number attached which is very foolish if you loose your keys. We removed the number from our key just incase. The drinks are quite expensive, €4.50 for 3/4 of a pint as the rest of it was just froth. They even ran out of beer on a Saturday night when a lot of new guests arrived. Had a nice outdoor swimming pool (unheated) freezing cold though. Wonderful views all round made our stay worthwhile.
