The hotel and staff were lovely. Situated in very convenient spot to explore Varenna and the surrounding area. Our room had a lovely view of the city and church. The breakfast buffet has a nice variety of options for all. Your stay includes access to the sister hotel properties and botanical garden! I would stay here again the next time we visit Lake Como.

We enjoy our stay. The room, spa and restaurant was very clean. The breakfast and dinner was very good. We had stayed at Alba several times the last 15 years in the winter and summer, and we always feels welcome. The staff is friendly and give a great service.

The apartment was very good for our purposes. There was lot of room for two of us. We were able to adjust the temperature so it was nice cool inside even if it was hot outside. The crocery store was very close. We had a very good service at the reception desk.

Nice hotel and also nice to stay with the children. The rooms are large and clean. Nice pool with outside access. Wellness is also clean and modern. We had taken a half pension and the menu was varied and delicious. Everyone also had more than enough.

Stayed here during our trip to Bormio when biking stelvio pass. The hotel was really beautiful and clean. However, our room was 24 degrees, and we were incredibly hot and unable to adjust the thermostat. I asked the front desk to adjust it, but it did not make a difference. Overall, the hotel was in a convenient location with parking onsite, and the room was quiet and clean.

I didn't sleep in the hotel, I was just a guest on the terrace of the restaurant. The drinks are excellent, with every drink order you get a small sausage and cheese. Excellent service, all praise for this type of restaurant.

Staff was very helpful in anything you asked them. They picked us up and dropped us off at the train station with no issues. Breakfast was very good as well. The hotel is 200 years old, and you can tell in some areas, but for the most part the rooms were plenty for us for a couple of days. Will stay there again.

Wonderful property in an excellent location.

We were six guys on a short bicycle trip, doing the famous passes in the region: Mortirolo, Stelvio, Gavia. Whenever there was a technical or historical problem, we got immediate help from the host, including direct delivery of spare parts :-) The food was excellent and the dining was cosy. This hotel is beautifully decorated. The staff are great and the spa was excellent. It had a parking garage and the breakfast was very good. However our room on the third floor was not sound proofed. It was too warm with no air con and the bathroom was very small and dark. We would have liked tea or coffee making facility in the room but there was none.

Room was freezing, A/C control didn’t work so had no option to warm the room. Amenities and room itself were nice.

Ideal situation, excellent, friendly and competent staff. Beds rather narrow, duvets a bit heavy. Impossible for one person to read in bed without the light disturbing your partner. Bathroom design not good. Bath very slippery, with no rail to hold on to, and after taking a shower the bathroom floor was always flooded. Not enough place for two people to hang wet towels.

We had a perfect holiday. The room we had was clean, comfortable and had a super view of the lake. All the staff were extremely helpful. Tranquil Place to Rest your Head I stayed here to have access to the Franciacorta winery area of Italy. It is extremely peaceful and quiet. And everything I wanted to see was close by.

As some users have already written, a decent structure with some flaws. In fact, the lack of a lift "replaced" by a freight elevator, does not suit a 4-star hotel, as well as the intermittent Wifi. Superb Had some difficulty finding the hotel at first thanks to our satnav taking us in the wrong end of Via Poncia through a tiny alleyway - from the right end of Via Poncia (marked by a sign for the Eurogomma tyre place) it's very easy. I love this hotel, the location is right next to the beautiful lake and it’s pretty close to the sailing club (CVG) so it’s really nice to live there in the summer for a sailing class.
