Hotel Lido Mediterranee in Taormina

Amazing hotel in a beautiful location! The staff were wonderful, the beach was fantastic, and the breakfast was excellent. I would definitely rate this as a 5-star hotel rather than a 4-star.
The only downside was the noise early in the morning and late in the evening, as our room was located above the restaurant.
Another small issue was that some guests reserved the front-row beach loungers by leaving their towels on them for hours without actually using them. As a result, we had to stay in the second row even though many of the front loungers remained empty. Only after several hours were we able to move closer.
I think the hotel should introduce a policy similar to those at many other resorts: if a sunbed is left unattended for more than 20 minutes, the towels should be removed by the staff. This would make the experience fairer for all guests.

The hotel is a bit old, but considering the price, it's still good value for money. It has everything you need. I emailed them beforehand and they actually prepared a kettle for me. The room has air conditioning and a stunning sea view. The breakfast is decent, and the service is average, though you don't really need much service. It's like a budget version of the Grand Budapest Hotel. It's about a 15-minute walk to the cable car and has a private beach with very friendly staff.

The private beach in front of the hotel is very nice, and the breakfast is also delicious, but the hotel is very, very old, and in Italy, blankets are not provided, only sheets are.

Dinner was very good, and the price was reasonable. A classic, old-money style hotel!

The scenery is beautiful. I set the alarm early in the morning and took photos of the sunrise. The service was also very good. The luggage was delivered to our room.

We liked everything. It was like being in Italy in 1980, the interior, the air conditioner, and the plumbing in the bathroom. We were in another era, thanks to the staff for creating the atmosphere.
