Hotel Country Club in Capannori

Let’s make it clear: this is not a 4 star hotel! This is just a party venue with a public pool where the hotel is just a side hustle. Rooms are clean and staff is nice, but everything is so basic and dated. With screaming local kids at the pool, late wedding and birthday parties with music and fireworks until late in the evening, swimming instructors with whistles, this place is not something where one can get propper R&R. No ammenities in the room, very scarce breakfast and constant flow of the people from outside passing trough would make this place 2 star hotel at the most. Also, it is important to remember that if two men book a room together, give them what they booked and do not presume that they want a room with two sepperate beds! Unfortunately this place was bit of a dissappointment. I guess the place had it’s glory days in late 70’s, but it just didn’t cought up with the time.

Negative experience! ! They didn't give us a room saying they were all full. . only after seeing that we were not Italians but black foreigners! It's 2024 and you can't be judged by the color of your skin

I booked this hotel on booking, specifying the preference for a double bed. It is always written that it depends on availability and they were friendly in sending me a message saying that only single beds were available. However, I would have expected a small gift, an offer of some kind given the inconvenience. The rooms are nice, the bathroom is a little dated and everything seemed clean except the remote control, which was full of dust. The uncomfortable mattresses. The worst aspect was the swimming pool. Closing is at 7pm, a little early, but I understand it was to open the restaurant. They invited everyone to leave at 6.40pm, so since our arrival we have had little use of the service. Even worse was August 15th. We knew we would find a lot of people, given that the pool is open to the public, but all the sunbeds were occupied, according to the lifeguard. Shortly after us, however, a couple asked the lifeguard for them who proceeded to give them to them. In my opinion, a certain number of sunbeds should be reserved for hotel guests and then given to external guests. We then sat on the floor and noticed many deckchairs occupied by Towels where no one sat. Next to us, 2 tourists had two sunbeds and a deckchair, which they obviously didn't use. It would be more correct to assign sunbeds based on the people who are actually there. Furthermore, the swimming pool was monopolized by a group of people playing ball. I understand that it is large, but there was no room to move. One of these people objected to a kiss I exchanged with my boyfriend, saying out loud that there were children there and it wasn't appropriate. (children who have the swimming pool reserved for them). I had chosen this hotel for the swimming pool and nothing else, but I was really disappointed. However, I want to point out that the girl at the reception was always very kind. The breakfast was also good, varied but not exactly high quality.
