This was hands down the worst restaurant experience we have ever had. We are hotel guests and stayed two days , and when we tried to have dinner at the hotel restaurant with our two children, we were REFUSED. The reason? "Appointment is required."

Really? An appointment to eat at a hotel restaurant where we are paying guests? This is not a Michelin-starred establishment with a six-month waiting list. It's a hotel restaurant, and we were staying at the hotel.

But here's the hypocrisy that exposes their true intentions: they gladly accept food orders for room service from the hotel. So their kitchen can prepare food for us to eat in our room, but we cannot sit in their restaurant? When we questioned this blatant contradiction, the reception staff rudely told us we "cannot order from the hotel." Contradicting themselves within the same conversation.

After my wife confronted the receptionist and refused to accept this discriminatory treatment, they finally agreed to let us in. But did they welcome us? Absolutely not. They seated us at a separate, isolated table in the corner, claiming they had "no available space."

THE RESTAURANT WAS HALF EMPTY.

We could see rows of vacant tables while they shoved us into a corner like unwanted guests. The message was crystal clear: families with children are not welcome here, and if you insist on staying, we will make sure you feel unwelcome every second.

This restaurant has no business being in the hospitality industry. The staff were cold, condescending, and openly discriminatory. We felt humiliated and disrespected throughout the entire evening.

DO NOT bring your family here. DO NOT expect basic courtesy or respect. They will invent excuses to turn you away, and if you push back, they will punish you by treating you like second-class guests.

Absolutely disgraceful. We will never return and will warn every traveler we know to stay far away from this place.

The below is a response after reading your reply to my original review
====================================
Dear Management,

I'm writing to respond to your comment because your response demonstrates a level of arrogance and a lack of respect that is truly staggering.

Let me be direct: your reply is a masterclass in how NOT to handle customer feedback. Instead of reflecting on how your establishment failed a paying guest, you doubled down with defensiveness, condescension, and outright hostility. Calling a guest's honest review "ridiculous" and "offensive" reveals far more about your character than it does about mine.

Let's address your excuses one by one:

Reservations—Not once during check-in, not once during our two-night stay, and not through any visible signage were we informed that hotel guests needed reservations for the hotel's own restaurant. This is your failure in communication, not ours. Blaming the guest for your lack of basic hospitality protocols is unacceptable.

The seating—You can justify table 40 however you like, but you cannot dictate how we felt. We felt unwelcome and treated as an inconvenience. Your dismissive attitude in this response only confirms that impression was accurate.

Room service—Your patronizing "get informed before you pass judgment" remark is particularly rich coming from someone who has done nothing but pass judgment on a guest's legitimate concerns. I made an observation. Your hostility in response is completely disproportionate and unprofessional.

Here's what's truly "offensive": a business that takes a customer's money, provides substandard service, and then attacks them publicly when they share their honest experience.

Your response will remain online alongside my review, and future guests can judge for themselves what kind of establishment this is and how it treats people who dare to speak up.

I trust this interaction will be educational—for anyone reading it.

Stayed 3 nights here. Had dinner at the hotel restaurant, it was raw. When told staff they returned it to the kitchen and overcooked it so it was completely inedible.
The included breakfast was average at best, powdered eggs, stale cakes, stale bread.
There is mould growing in the hall ceilings.
A couple of staff were good most were rude.
We have never felt more unwelcome in a hotel before.

Rooms without stand-up shower, or iron and board. TV Good, modern. Breakfast / dining room average. Seems the operator wants to say "no" more than "yes". Not much positive to say sadly.

Accepting we were a walking group the dinners were not great, signs everywhere at breakfast to stop us filling our water bottle or even taking a piece of fruit.Tinned fruit at breakfast, good selection of cakes and other stuff.Fir walkers you look forward to a good dinner but this wasn't the case at this hotel.

I spent a week here in May 2025 with TD active. There were 38 in the group. We had a half board package, B&B and evening meal. The food presented each evening was poor and at times inedible bearing no resemblance to its description. Bottles of water ( hotel filled) were charged at €2.50 each to the room. Breakfast ( for our group) was tinned fruit, cold scrambled egg. I gave up asking for tea after the first day as there was only one teapot and a grumpy waiter. Coffee was good
I would not recommend this hotel

The spa hydrotherapy was a little weak and the water seemed a little dirty. Hot tub had very weak jets. The steam room was great.

Nice hotel with great facilities. Great spa with pool and saunas. Staff in the bar is bad. One gentleman try to sell us empty glasses by delivery to our room.

Outdated
The hotel is very outdated. There was mold in the shower and a duvet without a cover, just a sheet underneath the duvet. Very unhygienic. We had lunch in the restaurant when we arrived, which unfortunately set the tone for the stay. The selection on the menu was incredibly poor. The toast we were served was not toasted at all, and the burger was so bone-dry and had a big pile of cheese (which looked like it had been melted but had solidified into a cold lump again). We asked for fries with the burger, but that wasn’t possible. Nor was it possible to get any sauce with the steak. This hotel belongs more in the 2-3 star category. The staff was friendly and helpful. That is the only positive thing about the hotel.

Pleasant stay at Grand Hotel Admiral Palace. The physical hotel is a bit dated (only sit down tub, no functional shower); but they keep it up very well. The hotel restaurant is excellent with unique menu items. Nice pool facilities.
