The hotel was overall very nice and we had a pleasant stay. The location is excellent — within walking distance of the train station and very close to the city center and major attractions, including Florence Cathedral. The breakfast was satisfying, with fruits, yogurt, a variety of desserts, and cold cuts. The staff were kind and helpful.
The only area for improvement was the room layout. While the ceilings were high and the room size was acceptable, the bathroom felt larger than necessary and the bedroom could have been more spacious. Also, the bathroom window did not provide enough privacy, as it was visible from the upper floors due to the thin curtain. Improving this would make the stay even better.. thank you hope to see you again :)

We booked a room for two weeks for September 2025 online on the Hotel Porta Faenza website and we got a great room on the top floor as requested. The proprietors were very helpful and our requests by mail were all met. Our room was clean and nice and quiet as we were on the third floor and the room had double glazed windows, even though the street was lively till late. The breakfast we booked was more than sufficient and the staff was very friendly and helpful. It was easy getting around Florence and other neighboring towns by foot, tram or by train from this hotel. We had a great time in Florence partly due to our stay at Hotel Porta Faenza.

I’ve been a dedicated independent traveller for over twenty years and can vouch that Hotel Porta Faenza is truly exceptional in the value it offers for your money. The staff, the room, the breakfast: every aspect of my stay felt like I was being taken care of, and yet the cost of the accommodation was very affordable, like a step back in time to a less greedy era. This is definitely a place to return to on my next visit to Florence. Please remain exactly as you are. Grazie per tutto!

Room is a bit small but with a large and clean bathroom and nice hot water. Breakfast was good enough with a tasty cappuccino. Of course hotel location is perfect. Will reserve again if visiting again.

The hotel's location is superb, within easy walking distance of St. Mary's Train Station, and thankfully, it avoids the typical noise associated with hotels directly facing the station. The breakfast spread was excellent and varied. The only minor drawback was that the bathroom plumbing could get quite noisy when neighboring rooms flushed their toilets.

Fantastic experience at the Hotel Porta Faenza!! Room was clean and spacious. Beds and pillows were excellent - so comfortable and the ceiling was beautiful! Great water pressure. Hotel has a lift. Breakfast… was… amazing! The staff were so friendly and helpful. Location can’t be beat. Within walking distance to everything and on a quiet(er) street. We loved our stay here! One note: we were on the street side of the building and even with the double paned window we could hear some noise from the street below. It didn’t bother me at all but if you are sensitive to noise you may want to request a room not on the street side.
