Excellent location and very helpful staff who all speak English which was helpful to us. The fact the hotel has an elevator is welcome. The breakfast is good and plentiful. It’s easy to walk to the major sites in Central Florence, the Santa Maria Novella Train Station, and the Piazzale Montelungo from which my tour buses depart.

Very close to the main station and very close to the sightseeing highlights, we were happy to get a hotel for a reasonable price in Florence. Very small front desk, but friendly personnel (especially the asian guy) we were happy to get our room already in the morning. The view out of the room was to a backyard. The advantage was the quietness in the night. The room was clean, the bathroom as well, nothing to complain. Breakfast was italian like, so a lot of sweet things. Don’t expect a typical continental breakfast. Coffee from the machine was very good. If the wardrobe would have been in a better shape and the room itself would have had a nicer interior, I would have given more points. Nevertheless, because of the price for the room and the location i can recommend it and would go there again

This hotel is in an excellent location. Close to sights, train station, tourist meeting points, local markets, city squares, cafes, restaurants etc. Staff were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. Reception was able to book tours. Wifi was excellent strength. There is a lift that services all floors. Breakfast has a good selection for a continental breakfast including fresh espresso coffee. Our room was absolutely huge! It could of fitted at least eight queen size beds in the room. Bathroom was similarly large. It is decorated in old Italian style - for us this was all part of the charm, but this is not for everyone. It can be a bit noisy as people come and go from their rooms. But we did not experience any street noise as our room was at the opposite side of the hotel. We would definitely recommend to stay here.

The room had been renovated and felt clean. However, the hotel only provided heating in February, not air conditioning, so the room was a bit stuffy and required opening the window. It was also a bit noisy due to its proximity to the road and restaurants.

We spent nearly a week at Hotel Galileo in December. I booked through AA’s rewards program with miles and that platform is a little different than others when it comes to communicating with hotels. However, Hotel Galileo had wonderful communication with us. We were arriving by train from Rome and they were able to confirm the correct stop for us. When we arrived, they immediately upgraded our room at no additional charge. The room was charming and comfortable. The front desk was helpful anytime we asked for recommendations (at 10pm in search of the best panini for the win!). Overall a great place to stay.

It was an okay experience. I came to Florence to celebrate mine and my cousin’s birthday. I thought the hotel looked nice in the photos and loved the Italian touch in the deco. I booked the room months ahead and I swear I made sure to pick a slightly bigger room, and I specifically remember going a little over the basic room price to make sure to get a fairly big one. Somehow when you arrive you are never given the room you think you picked and you saw in the picture. Turns out I was only allowed a basic very small room. So small, we couldn’t unpack, which is really uncomfortable. A little disappointing, but it was an okay stay. Next time I’m in Florence, I’m renting an apartment for sure, hotels if not 5 stars are just too tiny in Italy.

We stayed here for 1 night only, and Cristina, the receptionist who greeted us, was exceptional! She gave us all the information we needed on our trip to Florence. She also suggested a few local restaurants that serve authentic local dishes. It is located near the railway station and just 10 mins walk to the Duomo.

Hotel is very very old in quality, room is clean but have super thin walls. You hear everything. Impossible to sleep with open windows, no mosiquito blinds or similar. The room is extrem small. Aircondition is not working during cooler times and it is super hot.
