Hotel Palazzo Benci in Florence

Unfortunately, I can't say anything rave about this hotel other than perfect location and wonderful reception staff, who are truly willing to help and recommend anything you ask for. The price-quality ratio wasn’t fair in my opinion it is tree times more to compare with now what make me even more disappointed and I have something to compare with. We've stayed in five different hotels in various popular Italian cities, and this one tops the list for what we didn't like. The rooms are damp, and the towels smell of vinegar. There are no complaints about the cleaning it was done well. The walls are chipped and clearly in need of repair. We stayed for three nights, one of which was terribly noisy outside, and even high-quality double-glazed windows didn't help. Of course, this isn't a complaint about the hotel, just an observation. Would be great if management of the hotel will pay attention to the restaurant staff and their hospitality towards guests. One morning, I was four minutes late for breakfast because the "high-speed elevator" took me exactly five minutes to get from floor to floor, stopping at every floor I didn't need. Consequently, I was late for breakfast. The staff angrily informed me that breakfast hours were over, and I stayed anyway and promised to have a coffee in
10 minutes and then leave. Unpleasant. It's with great regret that I have to give the hotel a low rating, and I want to say that the reception staff were extremely friendly. However, the owners and management should pay attention to some points that are so important to hotel guests, who pay to stay there, not ask for a free night's lodging. Anyways we had great experience in Florence! It was wonderful.
