Reviews
We were greeted at arrival by the owner's sweet elderly mother. We met the owner later on. They were both so so incredibly nice. Warning: They do NOT speak English! My bf is Italian so he communicated with them, however, even if you don't know the language, you can tell if someone is warm and nice or not. The mother nodded to me and gave me compliments, just the loveliest people.
I was very impressed with the rooms and the rehab that was done to the building to bring it to be a hotel. The room was comfortable and a great size. It was probably the first room I've had where FINALLY there's enough places to put your stuff and not on the floor! Plenty of tables/chairs/counters and 2 large wardrobes too! AC in rooms but didn't know until we arrived that you may be charged for usage (we were not). Our room had 2 balconies to sit out on in the morning before we left to explore the area. The bathroom had plenty of rugs and actually shelves in the shower which so many hotels think that's not necessary for some reason? The bathroom had plenty of nooks and cranies to unpack my stuff as well for the couple nights we were there.
The bed was comfortable, but the biggest (and only real) con was the pillows. MY god they sucked. I didn't really sleep. They were too hard and too low, but 2 pillows was too high and hard. It sucked.
The breakfast was a very impressive spread in a large beautiful room that made me sad that more people aren't here to enjoy it. We were there towards the end of April so I hope it picks up in the summer.
The wifi isn't great, but we are in a more remote area so I wasn't expecting much. You can still post pictures on social media, but don't expect facetime videos or probably working. We were able to stream on my kindle fire tho.
We were so happy to have found this B&B.
We booked through Booking.com, as the price seemed attractive for the area and compared to similar prices. This proved to be the case.
It's a small, family-run hotel, but it offers ample space both inside and in terms of parking.
We stayed in a very spacious double room with a number of thoughtful touches (for example, a corkscrew). It also had all the necessary equipment: a small refrigerator, a fairly large flat-screen TV, a mirror, a wardrobe, chairs, a small desk, etc.
The apartment had a terrace with two exposures, one facing the mountains and the other to the side. The view was superb, and we thoroughly enjoyed this terrace, which also had a table and chairs.
The shower room was large, with a separate multi-jet shower cubicle and toilet, both adjoining the main bedroom and therefore private. We benefited from complimentary air conditioning, which worked perfectly.
The welcome was very warm; the owners were young retirees who gave us all the necessary information for exploring the area and recommending nearby restaurants. Parking was no problem; there's a very large free zone right next door, and I even spotted a motion-activated security camera.
Note that the photos on Google accurately represent the establishment.
For dinner, we chose a small pizzeria/restaurant just next door (50 meters away) where we ate very well and at a very reasonable price. They offer specialties such as excellent pizzas and a variety of pasta dishes (we ordered pici with ragù and gnocchi with pesto genovese, salad, and for dessert, panna cotta and profiteroles). The house wine we chose was also very good. They serve it in 0.25, 0.50, and even one-liter pitchers.
In conclusion, I highly recommend this hotel.
It's true that there's a "vintage" feel to some of the details... But everything is solid, well-maintained, and clean, so what's the problem?
I looked at some of the other reviews and I think the one-star review from the Dutch woman is completely irrelevant. If she had been truly honest about the reasons she gave, she should have given at least three stars. I say this because I think it's awful to treat people unfairly, and that was definitely the case here.
The owner very kind and helpful but the hallucinating room .....
Bed with very hard mattresses, ugly, they looked like cardboard .... Cleanliness, I would say little, but the worst is the bathroom ...
The shower in one bathroom, and the rest in another ... Unheated ...
We asked for an electric heater ...
On the floor, instead of the carpets, there were bidet wipes, and outside the shower a rectangular piece of plastic ...
I understand, the environment is a bit dated and cheap but this is how it is precisely to neglect the guest too ...
