B&B Le Logge Luxury Rooms in Siena

We booked on America Airlines vacation site. The suite of rooms is a 5 flight walk-up, no lift. No concierge, all communication is remote via WhatsApp. Be prepared to carry up all of your bags.

The room in the listing that we booked was top floor with the view. The room we received was not the top floor and with no view. It was ok, but not what we booked. The location has a number of different names for the same room types to add to the confusion of what room type one actually booked. We complained about the room that it was not what we booked. The owner’s wife totally gaslit us, after the toilet flusher fell off the the wall the husband came to our door. He broke the glass door knocking so hard. I opened the door to the very, very angry owner. He appeared to be trying intimidate me but much dismayed that I was so much bigger than he. He pointed the the broken glass in the entry door as if it were some one else’s fault but his own. I saw the entry door to the room next door also broken glass. He came in and fixed the toilet flusher. Told me I was rude to his wife. I suggested he read the WhatsApp exchange, that there was no inappropriate language. It was the only communication there was between us, all in writing in WhatsApp up to that point. I had proof she was not speaking the truth about my behavior.

It was a very ugly exchange with the husband standing in the open doorway to our room. He was so angry and not the kind of person you want to have the key to your room while you and your wife sleep. My wife who was in the hotel business was listening to the exchange in the room behind me and was terrified to stay the night. We had not unpacked our bags. He finally left. We booked a nearby hotel for the night and left. We contacted American Airlines Vacations. They contacted the proprietor on our behalf but the inn refused to give a refund. I do not feel these folks should be in the hospitality business. It seems he is still trying to discredit and bully me from his reply to this review.

This was my third trip to Siena. I have visited Italy on business almost 20 times. I am a seasoned traveler. I have never been treated this way before.

The only interesting point is the central location. For the rest, ..... 102 steps to access the rooms, nothing indicated when booking, people with reduced mobility refrain! Very noisy rooms both inside and outside. Very average bedding. Mediocre breakfast, bread, bread and more bread! No fruit, no eggs and even fewer salads. The rooms are only redone on request but, without changing towels and replacing products (shower gel, shampoo, etc. or even toilet paper) you have to make do with what was given to you at the start, even if you stay several nights. Bring your toiletry bag. And finally when you ask to leave your luggage for a few hours to enjoy the last moments before leaving, it will cost you €12. In short, very overrated, move on, easy to find better.

Very disappointed! Cleanliness below expectations, they didn't make up my room because I forgot to put out the card, paying €180 per night... yes, I understood this correctly and then found myself with a very small and foldable phoon in the bathroom. Disappointing breakfast and not before 8.30am! I won't go back, I'm very sorry, I really thought it would be much better but we're not there. Positive note about the location!
