Great location in Susukino, close to restaurants and transport. The room is clean, modern, and comfortable. Breakfast is the highlight with a wide variety, especially fresh seafood and local Hokkaido dishes—very impressive.

The breakfast was incredibly rich and featured all the famous Hokkaido specialties like soup curry, seafood rice bowls, pork rice bowls, Genghis Khan BBQ, and more.

This hotel is a must-stay when visiting Hokkaido! It's well-equipped with a fantastic public bath, and after a soak, you can enjoy free ice cream or a variety of complimentary drinks downstairs. The location is super convenient, just a short walk to the subway station and Tanukikoji shopping street. The airport bus stop is also nearby, which is a huge plus! 👍

I thought booking a hotel in Tokyo right after cherry blossom season would be easy, but turns out there were two concerts at the Tokyo Dome that weekend! Panicked, I booked this place, and it was surprisingly good. First off, if you find the right exit, it's genuinely only 200 meters from the subway station. The room decor is a bit old-fashioned, unlike the modern express hotels in China. In the lobby, you can use your passport to get a room card directly. There are three machines, and you can select Chinese as the language. Some staff members also speak Chinese.

I booked this hotel because I didn't want to wait an hour for the Mystays shuttle at the airport. Check-in and check-out are done via self-service machines, and check-in is strictly at 3 PM. The hotel is located in Kirishima, making it convenient to drive to Kagoshima and Sakurajima. The lobby has a great design, the room was clean and tidy, and the service was attentive. Parking can be a bit tight near the main building.

Room was clean and spacy with great view of ocean and mountain. It takes a bit longer time for checking in than expected.

First, we loved the onsen and its services, where we soaked in three pools of different temperatures, sweated in a sauna, then alternately cooled ourselves in cold baths. Second, room services were excellent despite its furnishings seemed to be run down a bit. Third, its location is central to travel most places of interest, which spreads out in Kagoshima Prefecture.

The bathroom was small but clean and functional. Everything else was great; fresh towels were left at the door daily, which was very convenient and thoughtful. The room was cleaned every three days, perfect for guests who prefer minimal disturbance. Overall, it was simple, comfortable, and good value for money.

The hotel environment is really nice, I'd say it's on the higher end for a Smile Hotel. The front desk service was excellent, very attentive, and they offer luggage storage. You can get fresh towels daily, and housekeeping comes every three days. It's also very close to the subway station.

I would like to sincerely thank 李 and 伏见 for their efforts in coordinating with various parties and helping me successfully retrieve my lost bag from the Shinkansen lost and found centre. Even though the reception was busy with other travelers and this wasnt part of their job, they still took the time to help me. Because of their help, I was able to enjoy the rest of my Japan trip.

Hotel Kunugigaoka Otaru is a beautiful hotel in a beautiful city, right by the sea. It's conveniently located, perfect for a snowy stroll. I enjoyed delicious 'chame' barbecue, visited the Music Box Antique Museum, and the Japanese Ukiyo-e Art Museum, among other places.
