Hotel Keihan Tsukiji Ginza Grande in Tokyo

The hotel is beautiful and in a good location. However, a word of caution to future guests: even if you pay extra for a 'Comfort Triple Room' (which is supposed to be larger), they might assign you a smaller 'Standard Triple Room.' If you notice the room type isn't what you booked, make sure to request a change.

When I booked, I specifically chose the Comfort Room, which cost a few hundred more than the standard. The description stated Comfort Rooms are 27-31 sqm, while Standard Rooms are 23 sqm. But when I checked in, the room I was given had the exact layout of a Standard Triple Room as soon as you walked in, with no sofa area. I went to the front desk, and they insisted my room was 27 sqm and perfectly fine, and that the 31 sqm rooms with sofas were assigned randomly. I didn't accept their explanation and eventually got moved to a larger room, but overall, it was a very frustrating experience.

Later, I checked the hotel's room information on the TV and found that there are no 23 sqm triple rooms at all; all triple rooms are 27 sqm or larger and are all called Comfort Rooms. It seems like if you don't pay extra, you'll get a small room, but even if you do pay extra, you still won't necessarily get a larger one. So, consider this before booking.
