Hotel ALZA KYOTO in Kyoto

I have been to Japan many times before, and the hotels I booked for hundreds to thousands of yuan were better than this hotel.
First of all, we arrived at the hotel in the morning on the day of check-in, but we were given a room on the first floor next to the front desk. I said that I had trouble sleeping and hoped to change to a quiet room upstairs. The front desk clerk asked the leader and told me that there was only one room left, and I had to pay the difference of 1,000 yuan per night. It's really a rip-off!
Secondly, I was glad that I didn't pay the difference, because the hotel has a subway underground, and the noise is very loud. If I paid the difference and moved to the upper floors, I would inevitably be troubled by the noise. Fortunately, I brought earplugs, but I could still hear the sound of the subway passing by. I didn't expect that the hotel had such poor sound insulation. It's like sleeping next to the railway tracks and charging 2,000 yuan. It's speechless.
