Kyoto Tower Hotel in Kyoto

Extremely happy with my stay here, especially in this room. Honestly, I’m not sure why there are bad reviews — unless you’re particularly plus-size and need extra space, this room is completely fine. It actually has way more aesthetic and character than a plain, cookie-cutter hotel room, and the whole atmosphere genuinely added to our stay.

We had zero issues opening two 30kg suitcases on the floor, with plenty of room left to move around comfortably.

Only minor note: the sink is a little smaller and slightly lower than the usual height, but the bathtub and shower work perfectly, so it didn’t bother us.

And the location? Chef’s kiss. Being right next to Kyoto Station means unbeatable access to trains, buses, and sightseeing — one of the biggest reasons we chose this hotel over others. Truly an amazing base for exploring Kyoto!

The hotel is directly opposite Kyoto Station, making it very easy to find. It was also super convenient for my day trip to a nearby city, and I really appreciated being able to store my luggage in the free lockers.

For a special stay in kyoto where the view, location, and comfort matter, this hotel is a very strong choice. Room is spacious, clean and organized. near bus and train station.
Furthermore, we were given a discount coupon for the observatory deck. my friend and i went during night and we had a memorable stay.

Good hotel in a great location — right in front of Kyoto Station. I booked it specifically to catch the morning Shinkansen to Tokyo and enjoy daytime views of Fuji. Breakfast was also solid, buffet-style.

We stayed here at the Kyoto Tower Hotel because of its prime location, which is next to Kyoto Station, making it convenient for exploring the city. The hotel itself is a landmark, with the iconic Kyoto Tower.
Our standard double bedroom, however, was disappointingly small. The Japanese-style futon bed was a nice touch, but the lack of a wardrobe, desk, or drawers left us struggling to organise our belongings. The tiny round table was insufficient, and the compact bathroom, while very clean, felt cramped.
On the positive side, the air freshener, Japanese pajamas, washlet toilet, and USB outlets by the bed were welcome details.
The breakfast buffet on the third floor was a highlight, offering a commendable Japanese and Western spread in a comfortable, ambient restaurant. The hotel reception on the eighth floor was efficient, and as guests, we enjoyed a discount on the Kyoto Tower entrance fee. Overall, the location make it a wise choice, but the small rooms and lack of storage are major drawbacks.

I booked a triple room but was given a quad room. The room was spacious enough. However, since I booked a short-stay room with check-in after 5 PM and check-out at 10 AM, and I was out the whole time, I didn't pay much attention to it.

Conveniently located in front of Kyoto Station/Kyoto Bus Terminal. Good spread of varieties for its buffet breakfast, including vegetarian friendly choices. Only shortcoming is repeated same kind of fruit, dessert and almost every dishes daily. Amenities wise, will be better if can include items for visitors to pamper themselves eg foot patch and bath powder (which some other hotels have already been providing). Nevertheless, still a great stay, especially when you are welcomed by a spacious room with a good city day/night view.
