Yamatoya Honten in Osaka

Only stayed one night and honestly regretted not booking more! This is a traditional ryokan literally across the street from Dotonbori—the location doesn't get better than that. The room was a beautiful Japanese-style room and very comfortable. They have a public bath (onsen) on-site which looked amazing, but I didn't get a chance to use it due to my short stay. If you want to experience a ryokan right in the heart of the action, this is it.

Stayed here for a couple of nights and really loved my traditional Japanese style room. The service was super sweet, the location amazing and the rooms were nice and clean with fresh water and towels every day.

Overall good and with good value

Booked this hotel for 10 nights and it was my first time experiencing a Ryokan. It was amazing, there is a daily Japanese breakfast available (western option is also available, you have to inform reception) which had rotating side dishes. There is also a public bath which is free of charge and I highly recommend to use it everyday to relax and recharge after a long day of activities. The accessibility is amazing, it is near to Dotonbori, Kuromon Ichiba and Nippombashi Station (for both Osaka Metro and Kintetsu lines). Walkable distance to Sennichimae which has plenty of good food too.

I will recommend this Ryokan to anyone who wants to stay in the city center. Thank you to all of the staff who made my stay an amazing one too, 本当にありがとうございます。

The location was superb and room was pretty big too.

Great accommodations. The room was good but, temperature controls was locked and we couldn't control it. So, it was stuck on high a/c. Nights were freezing. Breakfast was interesting traditional Japanese food.

Super close to just tourist market so great area if you’re looking to walk around and see the culture. Room was great, as described, very clean and comfortable. Close to many subway stations as well! great view of the river

We stayed in rukan. It was a great experience. We enjoyed our stay !

Good location for shopping and bus to/from the airport
