APA Hotel Shinjuku Gyoemmae in Tokyo

The stay overall was smooth. The room layout is somewhat unconventional, with several rooms featuring lowered ceiling beams that can feel restrictive in certain areas. This appears to be due to the building’s structural design and infrastructure placement, and while it may affect the sense of openness, the rooms remain functional and efficiently organised for short stays.

On a positive note, the hotel staff were excellent — courteous, responsive, and genuinely helpful. When I raised concerns about the room layout, they kindly showed me alternative rooms and assisted with a change. Their professionalism made the process easy and reassuring, and it significantly improved my overall experience.
There was some construction noise during the stay, though it typically began around 10:00am, by which time I was already out, so it did not affect me greatly. The main inconvenience was the lift during peak hours, particularly between 8:00–10:00am, when it became quite busy and required a bit of waiting.

A business hotel close to the subway station. Breakfast on the first floor is delicious. Using sauna of B1 is a good way to relieve fatigue. The room is really small, so it is difficult for 2 people to use it. My back hurts because the bed is old. There are many restaurants and convenience stores near the subway. Unexpectedly, there are many Western tourists.

They were very helpful when I needed to store my luggage, and they even gave me directions to my destination, which was a huge help! I'd love to stay here again!

This is a typical chain business hotel. I usually stay elsewhere in Shinjuku, but it was fully booked. This hotel and my usual one are both about a 10-minute walk from the station. A definite plus here is the public bath downstairs, although it's clearly not a natural hot spring. I also appreciate its proximity to Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden, which I love. It's a straightforward and convenient walk from Shinjuku Station/Lumine Est. The hotel itself is like any business hotel – everything is typically Japanese: fast, efficient, and tidy. The classic downside is the peak hours during check-in/check-out and breakfast, so just plan accordingly. By the way, I really liked the detailed information available on the TV here; you can browse everything in the background.

The room was clean and well-equipped, but the service at the counter was not impressive. They weren't as helpful or informative as they should have been when I had questions.

The staff here is very friendly. The hotel doesn’t offer much other than a place to sleep. Like most of Tokyo, the rooms are very small and not luxurious. If you want to be close to the bustling life of Shinjuku at an affordable price, it’s a great stay. If you’re looking for a staycation in a cozy hotel, perhaps not for you.

Rooms are small but really nice. Not sure why l got a twin instead of a single bed, but that's ok. Room was REALLY warm with the heater on and i am used to cooler temps so i had the window open, even in the winter. I can't say anything about the onsen coz I'm not allowed for my tattoos. It's archaic in a metropolitan place like tokyo, but who am i to question cultural values. Overall excellent.

Booked a room in January for four nights at the start of our three week trip and our stay was very comfortable.

The staff was super friendly and helpful. Unfortunately I forgot to check the names of the staff we talked to, but they were all very sweet. They also helped us with filling out the luggage forwading form and we had no problems whatsoever. There was a bit of a language barrier with one of the (probably) newer staff members but we were easily able to overcome that with a translation app.

The room was rather small, which we were aware of though. We could store our big suitacases under the bed and managed around the small space with our smaller suitcases. Other than that the room was clean and had all ammenities we needed.

As there was only central heating, our room got a little cold during the night. But upon asking at the front desk we were able to receive an extra blanket.

The location of the hotel is very convenient. It‘s close to different konbinis and supermarkets, several malls and stores for shopping, as well as restaurants. A metro station and bus stop are also very close by which made traveling around to different places easy and fast.
