Stayed at the Shinjuku Prince hotel for 5 nights recently. The location of the hotel is extremely convenient, right next to the Seibu-Shinjuku station and 6 minute walk from Shinjuku station. My friend and I stayed in the smallest hotel room with twin beds, the only problem I had was that the room was too small, couldn’t really open a big luggage entirely without sacrificing walking space in the room, and the aircon was very weak during our stay, but they did offer a portable small aircon machine on the ground which kept the temperature acceptable. I’d pay more for a bigger room next time.

This time I came to Tokyo for a company team-building trip, and we chose Shinjuku for its convenient shopping. The hotel was incredibly convenient! It's just a stone's throw from Isetan and Lumine Shinjuku. The service, as expected, was professional, warm, and attentive; they anticipated every need and detail before we even had to ask.

Great central hotel in the heart of Shinjuku’s nightlife and transport links. The location made it very easy to get around Tokyo. Rooms were on the smaller side but comfortable for our stay. We really enjoyed the tasty beef curry at the buffet dinner. Staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming throughout.

The biggest plus for this hotel is its fantastic location right in the heart of Shinjuku, surrounded by all the hustle and bustle. The front desk and bell staff were pretty good. But from there, it was mostly downsides: The bathroom was outdated; the toilet seat was wobbly, and the buttons were worn out. The showerhead couldn't be adjusted, so it never sprayed directly at you, requiring constant manual fiddling. The double bed in our room was only 1.4 meters wide and pushed against one wall, making it really inconvenient to get in and out. The hotel's breakfast was just average, nothing memorable at all; we tried it once and skipped it the next day. This place pales in comparison to the Mitsui Garden Hotel Ginza we stayed at last summer. Definitely not staying here again.

Shinjuku Prince Hotel is a great choice for staying in Tokyo, especially because of its excellent location. The hotel is right in the heart of Shinjuku, close to the train station, shopping areas, restaurants, and entertainment spots, which makes getting around very convenient.

The rooms are clean and well maintained, providing a comfortable stay after a long day of exploring the city.

Considering the location and overall quality, the price is relatively reasonable compared to other hotels in the same area.

Overall, Shinjuku Prince Hotel offers good value for money with a prime location, cleanliness, and convenience. Recommended for both leisure and business travelers.

A nice hotel with good access to kabuchiko, however it’s quite far from the subway. Takes some effort to get there underground, since the underpass is really complex layout. jim

Due to my child's wishes, I took them to Japan for Christmas. After my child booked three nights for us through a foreign website, I ended up extending our stay by one more night, so I have some thoughts, especially for future guests:

1. The hotel's location is indeed excellent, right in Shinjuku. However, due to its prime location, the room rates aren't cheap. I stayed a total of four nights, and the daily rate, including taxes, was generally between 1300-1500 RMB. So, it's not exactly a budget-friendly option. I accepted the price when booking because of the convenience.

2. The most unacceptable part, though, is the hotel's proximity to the subway entrance (see image below). The hotel didn't make this clear beforehand. The entire north-facing wall of the hotel experiences significant railway noise. Roughly 5-7 subway lines converge here, so a train pulls in and out every two minutes or so. This is something to be very aware of, as it can severely impact sleep. Also, Japanese trains generally operate until after 1 AM. After being disturbed, I found I couldn't properly sleep until after 1 AM, and even then, I only got about three hours of sleep before the trains started up again. The next day, I spoke to the hotel, but their general response was that they were fully booked and couldn't move me. So, future guests, please take note.

3. Regarding the hotel lobby's use: after 9 PM, they essentially rope it off, preventing guests from sitting there. The hotel rooms are too small to set up a table for working on a laptop or reading. So, sometimes in the evenings, I needed to check emails and had to go to the lobby to find a place with a table. But the lobby gets roped off at 9 PM, forcing guests to leave. I tried to discuss this with them, but their response was that it's hotel policy and couldn't be changed. I ended up having to go to the McDonald's across the street to work for a bit, which was incredibly noisy but I had no other option.

4. Another specific issue is that unless you have a future booking at this hotel, you can't store your luggage. Since the rooms are so small, a large suitcase is hard to place. I wanted to store my luggage in the lobby during my stay but was denied. On the day of check-out, I wanted to take my child to a museum and hoped to store our luggage, but I was asked for proof of a future booking and was denied again, which was very frustrating.

Overall review: If you have an absolute need to stay in central Shinjuku, you can consider this hotel. However, if that need isn't critical, it would be better to book another hotel. I believe if this kind of hotel were operating in China, it would be completely uncompetitive.

We had a really good stay. The hotel was clean, quiet, and comfortable. Staff were helpful, and the location was convenient — a FamilyMart is only about a 2-minute walk away, so grabbing snacks and drinks was super easy. Highly recommend.

Shinjuku Prince Hotel has superb location. It’s in the heart of Shinjuku, easy to go everywhere. The room we are in is of reasonable size for 3 adults. Will stay here again and recommend friends

I booked this hotel thinking they have private rooms. The pictures looks like it, but rooms have poor privacy only separate from public by curtain. So, I told staff, but they didn’t accept pay back. Too expensive for non privacy room and very confusing.
