Medplaya Hotel Regente in Benidorm

It was a fantastic experience. The location of the hotel is very central and perfect for if you want to explore the town or go to the beach. The staff were amazing always happy to help and friendly. The room we had was perfect, good in size and daily cleaned if wanted. The balcony had a lovely view and seating space. The food always had a great selection, different every day and tasted great. Overall we had a fantastic time staying with this hotel and have no complaints.

Just returned from Regente. Wasn't expecting much from previous reviews, but was pleasantly surprised. Modern, clean, & food more than adequate.Lift broke down, but was quickly fixed. Only slight issue, restaurant staff quite rude & abrupt. Would return

We came here in December I had been before and told my husband it was great. The room was great. Most staff were excellent. The entertainment was fab nacho was brilliant. Now for the downside the food was always cold when we told them they said heat it up in the microwave. Absolutely not. The reception girl was very rude. The guy in restaurant was cheeky to my husband. And ended up in a full blown argument. We tried to stay away from the restaurant to save any conflict. But apart from that we had a great time the people we met was fantastic..

Hotel was clean and appeared to be well run. The staff were AMAZING, helpful friendly and professional.
Thee location is far enough from the main strip so that it's not noisy and hectic, but close enough that its only a short walk to the craziness, lol
Our only issue was that although the food was good quality, it seemed to be very similar for most meals

My friend & I booked to stay here for a week as the location was good & we had half board included. We arrived mid evening and had a quick check in & managed to have something to eat before dinner finished. We thought our room was rather small, but decent sized balcony, comfortable beds, nice bathroom & all clean & fresh. Useful little fridge, kettle. Tv with English channels & WiFi signal good. We were on the 3rd floor so tended to walk down the stairs & got lift back up ( always bit of a wait). Most of the staff here are very helpful and friendly which was nice, but we did encounter a very abrupt/ rather rude dark haired woman on reception one evening. The cleaning staff are extremely efficient here, hang your note on your door & they soon appear, always with a smile & sort your room. The catering here was rather disappointing. Each time, every meal we had was only just warm. Apart from the ( meat) counter which was mainly cooked fresh each sitting. I have to have a gluten free diet & there wasn't many options available for me. Hardly any of the dishes stated they were gluten free so most meals it was wait for the chef to come & say which or guess work. Sad to say there wasn't much i could have . Only one day the soup was GF. So majority of the time I just had a salad starter. Mainly whatever meat was on that day & tried to make up a meal. Very strange accompaniments to the meat- only one veg item & no potatoes-? only chips ( had to ask for gluten-free portion & wait 15 mins). We never saw any jacket potatoes or mash & only boiled once . I took a small flask down each dinner with my own made gluten-free gravy. Pretty poor really, as was the deserts choice for me - jelly or ice cream. My friend on a "normal' diet tried lots of the food which looked nice but said was always bland & lukewarm. Most of the catering staff are lovely - always speak & smile, but a few always looked miserable as if they were in the wrong job/ didn't want to be there? Not people you really want to be around when you've paid good money & are on holiday. There was plenty of sun loungers available during our stay ( not the comfiest - no cushion on any). The pool was icy cold even in 25° sun. Very happy, chatty staff in the burger/ chip van next to the pool.. All in all, we did have a wonderful holiday in Benidorm. Would probably stay here again but on a room only basis.. as plenty of eateries outside & around the hotel, serving hot tasty food with lots of choice, and very reasonable prices.

Went for a week half board start of October. Check in was smooth and everything was explained by reception staff. You can swap your evening meal for lunch if you wish or miss breakfast etc. The staff were very attentive and answered any questions, No issues at all. Breakfast was varied, 1 of the toasters needs replacing as 1 day, I had to do 4 turns and it still wasn't cooked, the other was the opposite. Fired eggs and omlettes cooked fresh every day. Lunch and dinner the items were very varied with even paella some days, roast meats and grilled fish all cooked fresh, so all tastes and nationalities catered for, and varied desserts and ice cream so food was great. Pool was fine and lots of loungers available and a sun deck so more than enough spaces, even at 10.00 am after a lie in. There's a shortcut from the hotel via the pool to the main Street if you don't fancy the little Hill. The bar was fine with no waiting issues and usual Spanish measures were good reasonably priced (for non all Inclusive) Safe hire is available from reception at £28 for the week. The cleaner came every day which was good, no issues with toliteries, the dove products slarent "watered down" as suggested they're runner due to the heat like any other product, and they're more than suitable if you don't want to bring or buy your own. The hair dryer however is erm..... Like any other hotel dryer so I'm told (I hardly have any) so you may want to bring your own. Our only minor gripe along with the other reviewers is the air con, sometimes it was difficult to tell if it was even on, this is in dire need of attention. All in all it was a very pleasant stay with great amenities and staff, good rooms, good staff, and general all round 4 star hotel.
