Reviews
First impressions of the hotel were wow, clean, smelt great.
The reception staff were nice.
Our room was spotless, bathroom looked new, lovely shower, toilet sink area very very clean.
The bed was huge, for me the bed was uncomfortable giving me back ache but my husband was fine so it depends on your own preference.
Was great for sitting and relaxing on.
The TV we didn't use but it was a decent size.
Balcony was a nice size with a table chairs and a clothes airer.
The room was cleaned everyday and towels changed when we asked for them to be. Housekeepers were seen daily up and down the corridor cleaning rooms and were always very polite.
The walls are a little thin so you can hear your neighbours having holiday fun 😂 but who cares 😆
We were on floor 4 above the entertainment area, you can hear the kids disco and entertainment going on and also you can smell smoke from people smoking below 😔 also there were ashtrays on the balconies and we had people smoking on our floor.
There were no sunbeds wars whatsoever! We were able to get one if we wanted to.
The spa, wow little bonus there, really nice indoor Turkish bath, jacuzzi, steam room and hot room. My only complaint here is that children over 12 are allowed with an adult but they were noisy, jumping in the pool and being a pest to be honest. Maybe this is an area which should only be for adults. We used this place nearly everyday.
The outdoor pool was nice but again full of kids.
The entertainment, well thank god for the little reading quiet room so we could escape the noise, I can honestly say we only looked at 2 nights entertainment and it wasn't entertaining at all. Very disappointed in this. This meant early nights or off out for us.
The food, I don't know why people complain, there is a huge variety of food, something for everyone and nothing to complain about.
We had steak, fish, paella, more puddings that you could imagine. Oysters for breakfast and champagne. There is so much food you could go hungry.
TUI Rep Eve was amazing, she helped us choose the right things for us to do on our honeymoon.
On my birthday the hotel left a bottle of champagne in our room which was such a nice gesture.
This is definitely a hotel we would return to as it was located well to other places we wanted to visit, 10 mins walk to portaventura park, 10 mins to the beach and 30 mins to the house of illusion.
The room was clean, bathroom looked new. Bed was comfy enough. There is a hairdryer (not the best) and a fridge in the room. Safe available for extra cost. Housekeeping was also great, you can also request things on the app and they bring it to your room (toilet roll, more shower gel etc).
The walls are quite thin and we could hear our neighbours constantly, but they were pretty noisy so may not be as bad if you dont have shouting neighbours.
Breakfast was the same every day, but theres only so much breakfast food so there was enough choice and it was pretty good (and they had oysters and champagne every morning), there was also juice and coffee available. Dinner was nice, repeated after 7 days but enough choice and I thought it was really nice. They had cooked to order fish/steak and also paella every night. You do have to pay for your drinks at dinner (including water) which is something I've never came across at any hotel before.
Staff were really friendly and helpful, our door wouldnt lock and they sent someone up immediate to fix it. The entertainment was hit or miss but we dont really go to hotel entertainment so didnt really matter to us. Pool was nice, no floats over a certain size allowed and they will tell you to remove them.
No people running for sunbeds although people were reserving from 8am when it opens at 10 and towels weren't removed. Sometimes it was a bit difficult to get a sunbed. Drinks were reasonable for being inside a hotel (3.5 soft drink, 7 cocktail, 4 beer).
Beach is about a 10 mins walk, portaventura 15 minute walk, so very good location.
Overall we had a great stay, only downside was our noisy neighbours but thats no fault of the hotel.
The recently refurbished rooms are top class with very comfortable beds and a monsoon shower in an excellent bathroom.
Food is varied with plenty of choice. Lots of fresh food cooked in front of guests as well as the standard buffet offerings and cold cuts etc
The minibus service to and from tye airport and our golf courses is excellent and Javier our driver every day was always on time and always with a smile.
All of the staff are excellent but Anna in the restaurant deserves a special mention; she is a really hard worker and never stops clearing tables and re-setting for the next guests.
Good points:
Room was modern, big TV.
Air con worked great in 35+ degree heat.
Nice shower.
Reception staff were nice.
Room cleaned and bed laid daily - cleaning maids were very nice.
Food was good, there was enough variety for us.
Bad points:
A big let down was the table service at meal times, if you're not there in the first hour, we would end up walking laps around the dining room with a full plate of food looking for an available table because the staff are not refreshing the tables quick enough. Literally 50% of tables were empty but still dirty and the other 50% were occupied, this was over an hour before meal closing time. You'd have to stand next to a dirty table until the staff member saw you, for them to reset the table, or ask them too. There is only one staff member per large area of the dining room and this was not enough.
Not only that, when you do get a table in the evening, it takes a long time for a server to come over and take your drinks order - sometimes you have to go up to them and tell them yourself. I also saw others go up to the drinks fridge to get their own bottles because staff did not attend to them. You're not allowed to do this, but staff were not around to see anyone do this.
Pool: The hotel has signs up stating "no reserving sunloungers" but the hotel doesn't enforce its own rules. All had towels on before the it opened.
Splash park and water slides were an added bonus. Although I can see how for older kids they wouldn't be particularly exciting.
Only minor downside is the sun loungers. I did end up getting our early on a few days in order to get some. Other days we walked down to the amazing beach which was totally fine by us.
Drinks prices are reasonable and lots of choice. Adriana especially was amazing with our kids who loved spending time with her in the kids club.
Overall we were happy with the place as we got it at a discount, but had I paid a 4 star price I would have expected more and wouldn't have been pleased...I would say this is more of a 3 star hotel.
