All the staff here are fantastic, including the owner Summit, who greets all his visitors personally and is on hand for any requests. Considering the proximity to the main road, the rooms are not noisy, they are clean, comfy beds and lots of storage. Bathrooms are all good too. The hotel is rustic and authentic. It is no generic international standard hotel by any stretch but it is classy, arty and boutique. In a quiet backstreet but an easy walk anywhere around the fort. Went for dinner at the restaurant and loved it. Lovely place right on the beach. We ordered a burger and a pizza. Unfortunately my burger was a bit overcooked the first time but our waiter (in the green shirt) fixed this by bringing out a fresh burger which I found to be 100x better. Gloria Grand Hotel Is a super place to at it's 5 minutes to the beach in Unawatuna good large clean rooms with balconies and a fantastic breakfast buffet from 7am till 10.30am which I highly recommend friendly staff and very helpful

Good and inexpensive place to spend a day on the beach, low prices for food, large portions, definitely enough fried rice for two. Delicious non-alcoholic drinks, very cozy area, in the shade all day, there are sun loungers of varying comfort. The service is unobtrusive and friendly.

I Had a lovely stay here. I took advantage of a promotion they were having and got a complimentary double room for having all 3 of my meals at Toddy by Hoppa. My room was beautiful, as you can see the view was heavenly, meals were fresh and delicious and the staff was excellent and went above and beyond to accommodate me. Lovely place and people I stayed two nights in this lovely guesthouse. The hosts welcomed us warmly with homemade passion fruit drinks, helped me with taylor works and with all our requests. Free foot massage was so good I booked a back, shoulder and head massage which was one of the best I have ever!! Wonderful way to start our travels through Sri Lanka. I highly recommend getting one.

I’ve had a wonderful 4 day stay at the Sayura. The beach and ocean view from my bedroom was fantastic and the position right on the beach front was perfect. The location right on the beach was perfect - a few steps around the bay to protected swimming behind the reef with turtles nudging you for a sea lettuce treat. Nearer the reef there were lots of fish, big and small. The semi indoor pool was clean and well maintained with change rooms in the hotel foyer. There are just 2 things good about this hotel rest all is very very poor. The good things is very spacious room and direct view of the beach from each and every room. Breakfast is ok dinner never even think of eating all the food was expired and after telling to the front desk they didn't care at all and over expensive food.

The hotel is in wonderful place, room was spaces and clean, view was amazing. Staff wasn’t very interested in you but what asked did everything. For example to give water to clean room to give fresh towels. Need to ask everything what you need 😃. Breakfast was not as usually, they gave pancakes, fruits, eggs, juice. The hotel is an excellent place but nothing more here

Stopped with my Daughters for 3 nights. The staff could not be more helpful in this hotel with the perfect location. Although it was off season with a rough sea at times the area has a natural sea pool which is safe and can swim with wild sea turtles.

Good location and excellent view at the very narrow beach. We spotted two different sea turtles from our Terrasse and snorkelled with a big one (~1m long) in the shallow waters just a few hundred meters east of the hotel. It’s an older hotel that could need a bit restoration - but that goes for many things in Sri Lanka these days ;)

This is a wonderful place - to live in the jungle 😻 A very beautiful garden with a lake, a very atmospheric room with a veranda and the coolest thing is the shower with an open ceiling and plants. Monkeys came - ogs live on the territory of a family of 8, birds, a small monitor lizard and a mongoose were seen. A chic, unassuming hotel in the heart of a bustling tourist area. The grounds are like a jungle, with monkeys and all sorts of animals. Everything is close by, including the beach and a ton of cafes. The soundproofing is poor, but each room comes with free earplugs.

The hotel's courtyard is a huge surprise! Be sure to have breakfast around 10 o'clock, and your friends in the trees will accompany you for a delicious meal. There are a lot of mosquitoes, so be careful to prevent mosquitoes.

It is quiet in a busy area, the yard is beautiful, squirrels, birds and lizards are jumping around in the yard, it is very comfortable to have breakfast and drink coffee here, but don't forget to spray mosquito repellent. As for the room, it can only be said to be average, quite quiet, but there are many mosquitoes, mosquito nets save lives. By the way, the restaurant and coffee downstairs are open...

The room is very exquisite, the details are in place, the service is very professional, the balcony is very comfortable, and the garden view on the balcony is beautiful. Excellent hotel, the rooms have everything for a good rest. The entire area is surrounded by greenery. The location is right on the main street of Unawatuna, 5 minutes from the beach. The hotel has amazing breakfasts, for a fee, very tasty. I recommend the hotel. If you go to Unawatuna, then definitely go there.
