Sevonra Garden in Unawatuna

My wife and I stayed at the Sevonra Beach Resort in Delawella for 2 weeks in February.
The location of the hotel is conveniently within walking distance for the local beaches and restaurants.

We found the hotel food and drinks menu catered for a wide range of tastes at lunch and dinner and we were greeted a friendly service at the Restaurant throughout our stay at the hotel. They also provided us with much needed breakfast bags when we started off early on our day trips.

The rooms in the hotel were all modern, bright, clean and spacious with air conditioning. We stayed in 3 different rooms during our fortnightly stay and by far the best was our room with a balcony facing the ocean.

I would especially like to thank all the staff in the restaurant and especially Sharukh on the reception desk for looking after us during our stay.

We had a wonderful stay at the Sevonra Beach Resort, Unawatuna. The hotel was exceptionally clean and well maintained throughout our stay. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist, which made our experience even more pleasant.

The breakfast buffet was excellent, with a great variety of delicious options to start the day. One of the best features of this resort is the direct access to the beach, which was absolutely beautiful and very convenient.

The roadside access to the hotel was also very easy, making travel hassle-free. The swimming pool was another big plus and was well maintained. We booked a family room with sea view, and the view was stunning and perfect for a relaxing stay.

Overall, a fantastic place to stay in Unawatuna. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a comfortable beachside getaway!

We had dinner tonight at the restaurant. Firstly I would like to say how professional all of the staff were. Courteous and doing a five star job. The food was prepared beautifully it looked good and it tasted good. And very reasonably priced we will be eating back there again very soon.

We had a wonderful experience! The service from Ahamad was excellent — very friendly and attentive. The food was really good, full of flavour, and the pool area was great too. Overall, a fantastic place to relax and enjoy. Highly recommend!

My family and I vacationed at the end of December. The hotel was renovated, clean, and cozy. There's a modern, spacious elevator. The staff is welcoming and friendly, and they love children. We only spoke English with them; they don't understand Russian. We had a room with a balcony on the 3rd floor (305). It was clean, bright, and warm. The room had a smart TV (we watched Russian programs), Wi-Fi (excellent speed), air conditioning, a fan, a refrigerator, a hairdryer, and an electric kettle—everything worked. The outlets were compatible with our plugs. Also included were bottled drinking water, tea/coffee bags, shampoo, shower gel, bar soap, and a set of towels for each guest. Bring with you: a clothes dryer (and plenty of change of clothes, as it's very humid and doesn't have time to dry), toothbrushes and toothpaste, hair conditioner (for girls), slippers – the hotel doesn't have these. The only downside was ants on the table where the kettle is (2-3, but they didn't bother us). We took the tour only with breakfast, since we only returned to the hotel to wash and sleep. We had breakfast on the second floor overlooking the pool and ocean. Choices: banana pancakes, waffles, rice with chicken curry, yogurt with granola, freshly squeezed juices, etc. A fruit platter and toast with jams are always included. Everything was delicious. We also had dinner. The buffet was not a hit with us; it was tasteless. And when it's made to order – mm, it's delicious, without that distinctive aftertaste of coconut oil and spices! Therefore, I would still recommend taking tours with breakfast and dinner – you won't regret it! If you need to leave the hotel early, just let the waiters know the evening before, and they'll bring a breakfast box to your room at 10 PM: juice, fruit, a sandwich, and an egg. The pool! Clean (cleaned every morning) and warm. There are sun loungers, and they provide free towels with no deposit. The only thing is, after swimming, you need to dry off immediately, otherwise you'll get cold because of the wind, since the area is open – it gets blown in. The hotel doesn't have its own beach, but if you go down on the left side, you'll see a sandy beach (2 minutes' walk). The path to it leads through rocky boulders and a rock pool (very beautiful and the water is warm, with small fish and crabs swimming around). Overall, the hotel is in a great location. It's not the center, where it's noisy at night and you can't sleep, and it's not the outskirts. Everything is within walking distance: to the left of the hotel (a 20-minute walk) is Dalawella Beach (aka Turtle Beach), where you can actually see large sea turtles, but I wouldn't swim there or touch them because the hotels there dump their sewage right there. The locals even told us to wash our hands and feet well with soap afterwards to avoid getting sick. To the right of the hotel is the central Unawatuna Beach (also a 20-minute walk). It's well-equipped, with sun loungers and umbrellas (free if you order something from the local cafes). There's also a cafe called Grecha with Russian food: the prices are reasonable, the food is delicious (especially the borscht). We came to this beach both on foot and by tuk-tuk (we told the driver "Happy Banana" and he took us. The cost is 400 rupees - in our money, we split it.

I have visited this place 2 times for 2 ceramonial weddings. This place is good, food are good, deserts are good but staff customer service need to improve.

Good hotel with Good AC banquet hall. Bar is very good place. With sea view and winds. Foods are delicious.
