Blue Sky Beach Resort in Unawatuna

Abyssmal service, no wifi, photoshopped pics, drunken perverted employees, no free breakfast, barking dogs (the only security against intruders), no AC, no food no nothing. Seriously the worst & most unsafe place I have ever been to in SL. Pls dont mislead local & foreign tourists. It is disgraceful & a slur to SL hospitality. Advise u to closedown.

Disappointing Stay Due to Poor Management The hotel is small and clean and located directly on the beach, but the water in front is rocky and not suitable for swimming. To swim, you must walk 5–7 minutes through rocky terrain to Turtle Beach, and returning through nearby properties was not allowed, which was inconvenient. Service and management were very poor. After losing my room key (which I took responsibility for), the lock replacement was handled unprofessionally, causing damage to the door. The new lock was installed without testing it properly, and I was later locked in my room and had to wait over 30 minutes for help. Calls to reception went unanswered, and the desk is often unattended. Staff are kind but untrained with limited English, making communication difficult. At checkout, the credit card machine had network issues, but staff insisted my card didn’t work and asked me to pay through a neighboring shop, which felt inappropriate. I was pressured when I asked for basic verification, and later wrongly accused of using a different card. Overall, the experience was stressful and unprofessional. Good location, but poorly managed and not suitable for foreign travelers.

Very bad hotel - Wi-Fi is super slow. Beach is unswimable due to lots of rocks and seagrass.

Rooms won't be cleaned before you ask them firmly.
