Bay Watch Hotel in Unawatuna

We ended up staying at the hotel longer than planned, which gave us the chance to experience two different rooms. The first one was smaller but very cozy and compact, while the second one—a family room—was very spacious and comfortable. Both rooms had large bathrooms, and everything was clean and tidy. ​The location is excellent, right on a central street filled with shops, cafes, and restaurants, and also very close to the main road for public transport. Plus, the ocean is right behind the hotel! The atmosphere is very peaceful and pleasant, and the staff is incredibly helpful and kind. For breakfast, we enjoyed a fruit platter, juice, coffee, tea, and an omelet with sausages, along with a different dessert every day.

I had a rest in March 2025 with my family. Very cozy reception, beautiful furniture. Convenient location, 3-4 minutes to the beach. Breakfasts were also pleasant, although nothing special: eggs in different forms every day, the second course is different every day, but usually very tasty, a large plate of fruit, tea / coffee, toast with jam. The staff is sincere. The room was on the 4th floor with a balcony, small ants shared the room with us, at first they were annoying, but then we stopped noticing them, the furniture is the simplest, the room is large and bright, compared with others when we passed by, ours was definitely better. There are numerous cafes nearby, we liked the one in Koh (try the tuna), but otherwise we ate most often in different cafes on the shore. In general, this is the simplest hotel, but sincere)

Yesterday we returned from vacation, we stayed in this hotel for 9 nights, room 201, Wi-Fi worked, cleaning on request without problems, fumigator on request without problems. The staff are very responsive and smiling, the breakfasts are good, you will not go hungry, they try to diversify them well. The hotel is good if you understand where you are going, no frills, but the water was always hot and cold. A couple of minutes to the ocean, the location is excellent. And I also want to say that the guys pleasantly surprised me by the fact that they value their prestige and are responsible for my guests, at night my swimsuit and beach dress were stolen, they just took off drying near the room, well, the manager showed the thief on the cameras, he is a stranger, entered the territory with the purpose of stealing, apologized and !!! took us to the store and bought me a beach dress and a swimsuit, which I tried on and chose. Respect, I was pleasantly surprised, the incident was resolved. Thank you very much !!!

We vacationed in Sri Lanka for the first time, we were together at the Bay Watch Hotel in February 2025. The hotel is clean, cozy, breakfasts are quite acceptable. We are not picky about food, so everything is quite decent and satisfying: fruits, juice, tea, coffee, toast, butter, jam, first course - some local dish, second course of your choice - an egg, an omelet or fried eggs. So a completely normal breakfast. The room was cleaned upon request, you leave the key at the reception and they clean, if you need to change a towel, ask and the staff will change it. The girl at the reception is very responsive, the guys who serve are all kind, always smiling, doing everything in their competence as much as possible. Lunch, dinner - we ate in different cafes, there are plenty of them here. The ocean is beautiful, the water is warm, in short, the vacation was a success, including thanks to the Bay Watch staff. I recommend the hotel. Thank you all very much.

The hotel is good, it works out its 3 stars, but there is room for improvement. The rooms are simple, without frills with air conditioning, and considering that it is hot here, you can’t do without it. The accommodation was with breakfast, here is a solid 4, tasty and varied. With wifi everything is bad, it constantly drops out, it is easier to buy your own sim with unlimited connection.

Good hotel for its level. Small, cozy, clean. The location in relation to the sea and restaurants is ideal. The street is noisy. Very helpful staff, they solve any of your problems, just ask. The room is cleaned upon request, even every day. They provide water and shampoo. They will bring a kettle to make tea. The breakfasts are very nice. Although it’s not a buffet, they try to add something new every day. Fruit, toast, butter, eggs, sausages, jam - every day. Plus there is yogurt, spring rolls, hot dogs, even soup. We took a room with its own balcony. It is small, the bed is huge, there is a cabinet under the mirror with shelves for things, air conditioning, TV, hairdryer. The refrigerator and safe are on the cabinet for dishes and a kettle, which is a little inconvenient. Everything worked, the water was always hot. There are also hooks on the wall and hangers for clothes. It’s also inconvenient to lock the room from the inside: you only need the key, which is tied to the card for the electricity to work, which means you turn off the lights and use the key to look for the well in the evening in the dark... funny. Despite some inconveniences at first, the lack of furniture, we quickly adapted and rested happily.

The best hotel! Everything is very beautiful. The hotel staff is excellent, always friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The breakfasts are very good and varied, we always had enough to eat. I recommend this hotel. The ships would return again with great pleasure.

Wonderful hotel, location 10/10, clean, everything works, staff are super positive! Thanks for a great vacation guys!!️🩷 You need to ask for room cleaning and leave the keys. There were no animals or insects observed in the room, the air conditioner worked.

Rooms are OK fridge safe tv kettle everything you need with full breakfast very nice friendly staff
