First do not leave your valuables in the room, we missed 200$ after the first room cleaning. The place is on the beach and it s nice, but the room is overrun, walls are degrading, the toilet, sink, shower are rusty... We payed almost 150$ per night but the place should not be more than 50... Surely you can get better accomodation for this price somewhere else. The restaurant and bar are way to overpriced...

It is really having a peaceful, quiet atmosphere, truely home away from home. Their services are great and the staffs are really calm and you can sense that they are experienced and respectful. I loved my stay over this Hotel

The good: The room (king size bed) I was in was spacious and comfortable and had all the services (refrigerator, toilet, wardrobes.. I stayed at this hotel for 3 days during Ramadan. The room that I stayed on the first day was not comfortable. The shower was broken and the room felt congested. We stayed at Mahali for four nights in September 2025. This was part of our honeymoon trip. We thought this hotel was absolutely stunning! I stayed in the Zazu suite and it’s very nice but also right above the restaurant and music doesn’t turn off until around 10. The property is clean and the staff is very nice. They made scheduling taxis pretty easy. There was no mosquito net in my room and so I actually was bit by more mosquitos here than on safari. Overall was a nice stay and would recommend.

Pretty average. I don't know if it's good for the price because it was booked by our safari group, but it has all that you need. The AC is excellent, there's American movie channels. The wifi was slow at times but overall fine. The shower pressure was average, didn't get too hot when I took one. We were able to check in a little early though.

While the hotel's opulence came at a premium, the breakfast experience fell disappointingly short and my wife did not mince her words about it to the staff and management, leaving much to be desired. A stark contrast to the luxurious setting and relatively good rooms, the morning offerings were surprisingly subpar, diminishing the overall satisfaction of the stay!

It is right by the beach so it was great to walk out from the room directly to the sea. The place is clean and the breakfast was nice. One of the few places with rooms directly on one of the best beaches in Zanzibar. Italians and families especially will love it but great for all. Nice, quite and cozy place located on stunning Kiwengwa beach. You can feel at home. Rooms are very comfortable and clean. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Simba Beach is an amazing place, very clean and right by the beach. We loved hearing the waves all throughout the night and in the morning we'd wake up to a beautiful sunrise. The host, Chantal, is great and all the staff are amazing and kind people. Highly recommend!

I took the yoga classes in this hotel from a very skilled teacher.Her name is Malikka. I can really recommend her. She is a teacher in various types of yoga. Great stay, family friendly The place was great to stay at. The food was good, and the service was very good. the room was not air conditioned and was very hot. The windows did not have fly screens so we weren't able to leave them open which would have helped. The beds did have mosquito nets, but again we couldn't leave the room windows open.

I lived in early October 2022. I came with a volunteer mission. Wonderful hotel, good staff, chic arrangement 2 steps from the ocean. Delicious food, squid in batter. Hotel owners are a man from Italy and his life partner from England. I liked absolutely everything! Breakfast ingredients are not much different from many hotels in Zanzibar, but the breakfast service is well presented!

The location is at Matenwe in Zanzibar. A bit difficult to get ro but an absolute treasure. It's a retreat place but more like a resort. Directly opposite the beach, great pool, fine location and overall great staff. I'll like to visit again.
