Reviews
That aside a very nice place with no other complaints
The outdoor space of the villa is large and offers a big pool and outdoor kitchen & barbie. Kitchen is fully equiped and we had already 2 cooking sessions. The atmosphere of the villa is cozy and relaxing and offers 100% privacy.
Room service and staff is super friendly and brings the brekkie in the morning, which you order easily by whatsapp the evening before. The choice of breakfast is great and portions are far enough incl juice and coffee, tea.
Restaurant offers international food (Pizza etc) besides Thai Food. Prices are absolutely reasonable ( of course street food is cheaper) but here you get full service, big portions, nice view.
Beach is cleaned every day and sunbeds are always available. Sand is extremely nice as it is not the fine sand and the water is shallow to walk in.
There is nothing to complain, one of our best stays in Thailand so far.
Outside there is a brand new 7Eleven in 300m and a brand new karting track 500m. Additionally plenty of street food bars, excellent massage places and a cat coffee in short walking distance.
The wedding itself was magical, with the Karma staff doing everything possible to work with the wedding planner to make not only the wedding but our entire stay at Karma memorable. The rooms were beautiful, especially with the outdoor showers. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the restaurant food was excellent and the location, within walking distance of Fisherman's Village was very convenient.
Overall, we were extremely happy that we chose the Karma Resort as the venue to host the wedding and the place for us to stay over the wedding period. Thank you to Yulia and the amazing staff.
1.The hotel and rooms are very nice, but unfortunately that alone is not enough.
2. The main pool is far too small for the number of guests. It is similar in size to the pools by the villas, or even smaller. Half of it is shallow, more like a children’s paddling pool. The entire pool area is clearly too small. On top of that, people from outside the hotel also come in, which makes it crowded. It would be enough to remove one villa and create a proper pool and relaxation area, or at least introduce some limitations for outside guests, but it is obvious that profit comes first.
3. The price of a beachfront villa with a pool during high season exceeds $1,000 per night. There is zero privacy — everyone on the beach can see you, plus the view is dominated by beach umbrellas (see photo) If you are specifically traveling to this island for that villa, I honestly recommend considering the Maldives instead. It’s cheaper and offers far more privacy. The room with the upper terrace is definitely the better option in terms of what you get for the price. If You thinking about little pool villa- there is no sun there.
4. The air-conditioning filter was completely full of dust. I was coughing at night and couldn’t sleep. It looks like it hasn’t been cleaned since the hotel opened (see photo).
5. I don’t know what kind of karma works here, but the hotel seems to attract a lot of loud, show-off type guests, which negatively affects the overall atmosphere.
6. Breakfast and food are typical hotel standard — nothing special. We stayed for three days without breakfast before, and that was a much better option, as there are many excellent breakfast spots in town. The hotel’s Pad Thai was worse than any street version, even those costing around 70 baht.
7. Jet skis operating right next to the beach make it hard to relax and enjoy the surroundings. I was worried someone might run into me, as they operate very close to the shore.
Absolutely delightful!
We'll be back!
The free breakfast was delightful and delicious with choices for a variety of tastes and appetites. The restaurant is also very well priced, providing delicious food of outstanding quality. The pomelo salad was one of the best dishes I’ve had anywhere in the world.
In the villa, they have small touches that are thoughtful and luxurious, including a high quality Bluetooth speaker, complimentary bar, and nightly citronella service to keep the mosquitos at bay.
The outside bathrooms are perfection and the whole villa has complete privacy in every spot - such an important feature!
I stayed at a different, very high end resort during this trip and I couldn’t wait to get back to Karma because it was superior in every aspect. It’s a newer property and closer to the main road with places to eat and convenience. The accomodations were also much better and cleaner.
I could not recommend this property enough!
