Hemingway's Hotel in Patong

No good service

The room was ok,clean enough, but no hot water ever. We also paid extra for breakfast, only to find that the hotel had closed its dining hall permanently, and the only way to get said breakfast was to take a ten minute taxi to their sister hotel. This was not mentioned before arrival. For the money we spent, i would have expected a whole lot better. Also finding the hotel staff sleeping in the lobby felt quite unprofessional. Would I go there again? Definitely not.

Disgusting hotel, do not book! The pool and breakfasts are in another building (they bring you to breakfast by car, but the breakfasts are so-so). The room is dark, dirty, the elevator does not work. They put my mother on the 5th floor and my husband helped her carry her suitcases into the room, because the staff offered to help only after an hour. They promised that the elevator would be fixed in 2 days, but when we asked another employee, he looked at us like "not in this life". In the end, they promised to take my mother's luggage back and two fragile girls came, I really feel sorry for them. The room is sooo dirty, there is no hot water, the balcony has a very close view of the neighboring dirty building and dead birds. Our beds were pushed together and one bed had sagging creaking springs. There were also constantly mosquitoes in the room, regardless of whether the balcony was closed or open. It is impossible to sleep at night because of the drunk people who constantly come after a party, walk along the corridors, yell and laugh. Terrible experience and we left this place a few days earlier. We were not refunded, tripcom only offered to refund in points.

Could do better for the price
Elevator was broke my entire stay. Water dripped from the ceiling in the bathroom from a leak. The hotel never notified the booking agency of their new email address, so when I arrived they didn’t have my reservation. An hour and a half later I convinced the front desk to allow me to pay cash for a room and get reimbursed when the reservation came through. A quiet location and good restaurants nearby. The shower was decent.
