SR Sea View Apartments in Patong

It’s not five-star luxury — but it’s five stars for what it is.

Let me explain.

Not everything is perfect. There’s the odd tile missing here and there. A few things might hang slightly crooked. The ceiling fan might not work. The taps might not sit perfectly straight, and the air conditioning unit might drip on you while you’re having a smoke on the balcony. That sort of thing.

But what these apartments lack in finesse and polish is more than made up for in location, service, and affordability.

Location

The location is absolutely perfect for staying in Patong — with one caveat: it’s at the top of quite a steep hill.
If you’re physically fit or hiring a bike, it’s not a problem. It’s about 200 steps from bottom to top and will have you sweating by the summit, but if you have mobility issues you’ll be relying on taxis to get up and down, which can add up.

If you’re on a bike though, these apartments and the adjoining Sai Rougn Hotel are practically perfect.
It’s just far enough outside the madness that it’s silent at night. No traffic noise, no Bangla chaos — just the sound of a million cicadas at sunset and birds calling from the surrounding greenery.

But it’s also close enough that everything in Patong is within reach.
Malin Plaza is a 10-minute walk, the beach about 15, Bangla Road around 30. There are plenty of great restaurants nearby if you like to head out in the evenings.

That said, you don’t even have to leave for good food.

Service

When you stay at SR Apartments there’s a small, quiet pool — and you also get access to the larger pool at Sai Rougn next door, where the hotel restaurant “J&Pizza” is located.

The pool area is beautiful and a perfect place to relax during the day.
We loved ordering pizza and snacks from the pool bar while having a few drinks in the afternoon. Make sure to try the pool area’s signature “Passion Fruit Mojito,” served by the wonderful lady behind the bar — it’ll knock your socks off.

Which brings me to the staff. Genuinely some of the friendliest people you’ll meet. Their smiling faces are something we really miss when we head home.

Affordability

You’ll be hard-pressed to find better value for money in Patong. The main pool is excellent, the restaurant is reasonably priced for the quality, and overall it feels like you’re getting more than you’re paying for.

We’ve stayed here twice now and are already looking at booking again next year.

We love this place — and if you can handle the hill, you probably will too.
