Unbelievable but true, they offer a room in the basement, one meter away from the door of a kitchen that's always left open.
You enter the room, and a strong, ochre smell hits you in the throat.
I arrived on a night flight and got to the hotel at 4:00 AM. The night staff refused to change my room. Unable to sleep in this room with its horrible smell, I had to sit at reception for three hours, even though I hadn't slept a wink. And all this only for the manager to do no better in the morning. He forced me to pay extra for a barely acceptable room. Barely rested, I quickly got up to find another hotel and left.
The Trip.com customer service team, on the other hand, was very responsive and did everything they could to try to resolve the situation, but the hotel staff were awful and wouldn't budge. Trip.com had to make some kind of gesture to compensate for at least part of this double booking. Thank you to them.
As for the hotel, I travel regularly, and I've truly never seen worse staff, completely lacking in any sense of customer service.
Don't go there; there are so many better options in Istanbul!
The rooms are small and a bit tired. The hotel staff is helpful with all your questions, and breakfast includes: various types of eggs, nuggets, French fries, sliced cheese/sausage/vegetables, muesli, olives, and jam.
The hotel is fine for exploring the city; we only came to shower and sleep. I recommend it for this type of trip.
