Taxim Cool in Istanbul

Absolutely horrible experience. This is by far the worst accommodation we have ever stayed in — we have never experienced anything like this before. The apartment was in terrible condition: broken floors, walls full of holes, and the heater was not working at all. The place felt neglected and poorly maintained.
The listing is extremely misleading. They advertise a “flat-screen TV,” but what we found was the smallest TV I have ever seen. There was also a very strong and unpleasant smell at the entrance of the building, which made a terrible first impression and stayed throughout our stay.
We never met the owner. He does not speak English and instead sent another person, which made communication difficult and unprofessional. Overall, this place was nothing like advertised. Very poor condition, misleading description, bad management, and a completely uncomfortable stay. I strongly recommend avoiding this place at all costs.

Caution: Overbooking. Avoid this hotel if possible, because even if you have paid 100% in advance, it is not a guarantee that you will get your room.
Long story short: paid for 3 nights in advance from Fri to Mon via Booking.com, September 2025. When arrived, the hotel door was closed. Multiple calls and text messages to the owner's phone were unanswered. I had to book another hotel on Friday evening - the busiest time with, of course, the highest price. The next day, on Sat, had got a message in WhatsApp - "hi. sorry for mistake". That's it. Didn't get any support from Booking as well. Finally got the refund, but my holidays (schedule) were ruined.
So, guys, better avoid if you value your time and don't want to get the holiday wrecked.

Genuinely the WORST hotel I’ve ever stayed at, and it is not worth at all the cost I spent!!! To start off, my hotel room was not ready at 8 PM of my arrival date when I had already messaged the host that I would be getting there at that time. There is no reception office so you have to wait for someone to show up and then they took me UP the stairs only to show me an unmade bed… it was the last thing I expected to see after a 13 hour flight… then the A/C did not work AT ALL during my stay, they never even tried to fix it even when I complained, the bed was HARD AS A ROCK to where I was unable to sleep well during my week long stay AND only a sheet covers the bed (not a sheet protector). The only positive to this hotel was that housekeeping showed up every day (did not change the sheets every day) and you had to hope they gave you enough toilet paper since you would see NO ONE ELSE during your stay there. I wish I had gotten a refund or something because this was genuinely the worst hotel but I arrived so late to a new city I did not know, it was my only option… DO NOT BELIEVE THE POSITIVE REVIEWS. Also, the WIFI was spotty the ENTIRE time. No a/c during the heat was ridiculous and made it so hard to fall asleep. Also, the bathroom door NEVER closed so you basically had to use it while open.

No reception, I don’t know who to contact, the door is locked , wait for 1 hour and changed us to a room not in the same building. Do Not Trust the Good comments, they very likely paid for those comments. The price did not reflect the value at all. it worth less than 10euro

Never a worse experience, the landlord answers the phone, the front door is ajar without privacy, the toilet door cannot be closed, a hole in the wall, the outer door of the building takes 15-20 minutes to unlock because the key won't go into the lock, there is no staff, a woman comes, collects the money and leaves. Disaster

Worst experience anyone can have. Hotel has no name outside visible anywhere, no staff available as front desk. We passed by 3 times, without finding it. Tried to enter when realizing from picture that this might be the building. Doors locked. Finally someone came out (another guest), so we could enter. Upon entering, it doesn't looks like a hotel AT ALL. 2 looked doors on the sides, a narrow stairway going up and lot of garbage bags. We left the building thinking it might not be the hotel. Walked around some more, Finally spoke to someone sitting beside the hotel, who looked like a guard. In broken English/gestures he told us that it was the building. He knocked door for us, no response. He called and Finally someone showed up after 5ish minutes. This guy took us up, showed us rooms, gave keys and walked away. There was no water, coffee or information for internet (all these advertised when booked through Expedia). Tried to contact property, prior to our arrival and after arrival MULTIPLE TIMES, without any success (have record of that). Spent the night, in the morning contacted Expedia (have the record of that conversation too). Even Expedia guy said it was hard contacting the property management. Finally, Expedia learned that the property management is working on the system (no clue what).
2ndly, the key to the front door doesn't not work properly, sometimes it will not open the door. My husband went out and couldn't get in. The lock needed the key to open even from inside. A moment of panic. I literally started yelling if anyone is there. Finally a cleaning lady showed up and went to open the door. I asked the same lady for coffee she initially said no, but later came back with coffee.
Overall, a VERY bad experience for me. One of our family member decided to stay inside always so if the key doesn't work again, atleast we can get inside.
The only positive was that the rooms are clean, location is good.
Lastly, I mean no insult by saying it, but here the definition of "soundproof " is totally different. In a "soundproof " room, you can hear cars, people, horns, alarms etc etc, day and night.
