Istasyon Hotel in Istanbul

We stayed from October 21-23, 2024. The hotel's location is excellent, as of 9:00 AM. The metro station and tram stop are just steps away. The rooms are old (see photo), but clean. Cleaning is good, there's a hairdryer, disposable slippers, soap, and toiletries, nothing more, not even a disposable toothbrush and toothpaste. The staff is friendly. Cons: 1. The neighbors are undergoing renovations, making it very noisy all day long. The appliances are running, but they didn't warn us in advance or even apologize. The only saving grace was that we were out in the city all day and didn't return to the hotel until after midnight. 2. The breakfast is terrible. It's practically nonexistent. Old, stale bread and pastries, and the omelet and eggs are questionably fresh. There's NO coffee. There's only chifir brewed the day before yesterday and instant coffee. The photo makes it look like there's plenty to eat, but in reality, everything is the day before yesterday, and nothing is edible. There are no napkins, salt, or pepper on the table, not to mention the flowers that often decorate hotel tables. In front of us, the lobby staffer served us stale, bagged bread without an apron or gloves. This is NOT a 9.1 rating!!!!! And not even an 8. This is probably a modest 7 WITHOUT breakfast!!! This hotel is NOT worth the money (unless you're getting a deep discount, as we did). There are excellent 9-star hotels in the same area for the same price!!! Read reviews carefully before booking to avoid disappointment, as breakfast sets the tone for the day and can either give you joy and energy, or drain your energy and enthusiasm.
