The Empress Theodora Hotel in Istanbul

The location of the hotel is excellent if you are a tourist. Public transports and monuments at your feet. Safe place, helpful staff. We stayed a week and they cleaned the room every day. Breakfast sufficient, price fair for what you get. Overall impression excellent.

Great place to stay, unfortunately they dont have lift. But the breakfast were very delicious..

I really liked this hotel! The service was excellent, and the staff were always pleasant and polite. The breakfasts were amazing - you can choose anything you like. Special thanks to Mahran and Ahmed, who were always helpful, guided us, and recommended many interesting places to visit. They speak both Turkish and English. Overall, a great experience!

I recommend this hotel because of localization. It is close to every famous place. There is no need to use public transport. Rooms are small but very Clean

What isn't The Empress Theodora Hotel ? First lets get that out of the way. The Empress Theodora Hotel is not a full service hotel. If you need swimming pools and other amenities like spas and gym service then this is not the hotel for you.

The Empress Theodora Hotel is a boutique hotel. If you like warm courteous and helpful service then you will find that the people working here are exactly like that, they will extend to you the best Turkish hospitality that you can get. I recall Ahmet fondly who helped us so much when there was a glitch in the booking system. Breakfast is excellent and I still find myself missing it. A salute to the ladies who work in the kitchen who prepared so much good food every single day of my 5 day stay. Eating on the rooftop patio was positively delightful. The rooms are not very big but they are fashioned in the old Ottoman style which contributes to the overall feel of your trip. I found it charming that the street cars rolled by the hotel. The rooms are meticulously cleaned everyday whether you want it or not. But the best aspect of the hotel is that it is near (minutes away) Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Basilica Cistern, the Hippodrome, Turkish Museum of Archeological finds and more. I used to take a late night stroll with my wife almost every evening to Gulhani Park to see the lighting on the mosques its only a 7-10 minute stroll away. Enjoy the wonderful Kebaps in the restaurant attached with the Hotel. Rooms were moderately priced and I hope that they will stay so, so that travelers on a budget can also enjoy the wonders of Istanbul.

If there is anything that I would like to see improved that would be the addition of an elevator. If you are carrying a lot of luggage it can be a bit of a task getting those up but the staff also help a lot if you request it. Oh yes unfortunately taxis can't use the road in front of the hotel because the area is historically significant so a bit of a walk is needed to get to it. But the stay there is still worth it.

I hope that I may one day soon return and enjoy the hospitality and ambience of this home away from home!

We were looking for a good hotel that was centrally located and then we came across this hotel. The communication was great and we got a room on the same day. The room is cleaned daily and the room is newly equipped with a Smart TV. The room is as shown in the photos.

The location is perfect, everything is close to the hotel. Food was tasty, and the room was clean.
