Reviews
Definitely not a 4 star hotel either.
Not the most welcoming atmosphere when we got there i have to say.
The Bed was hard as a rock, we had a noisy room with music booming till 1am
Breakfast was average but the staff where friendly serving it.
Overall a disappointing visit as was for an 18 birthday trip.
Id requested prosecco ahead with the cream tea but this was not offered or available upon arrival. We didnt get the cream tea at all!!!
I feel this hotel also needs some redecorating as our bathroom had mould all over the walls and ceiling and in this day and age we shouldn't be subjected to this due to health reasons.
Great location, close to everything. room was not so great. Staff was fine, the food was bland and warm. If I stay here again, I will not pay for the breakfast. It was uninspiring. Location made it worth it, you will be a short walk away from absolutely everything
On arrival they say first impressions count. The reception was not inspiring and untidy with items on shelving at the back of the reception desk.
We were given lower basement room 5. What a shock. Very small room. Opened curtain to see the view was the back of the dining room/kitchen and looked out to a brick wall. Couldn’t see anything unless you looked up to see the sky. I booked twin beds and there was a double. We couldn’t open the window. Tried to operate the aircon which had sellotape round the sides of the control box but nothing happened. Phoned reception and a member of staff came down. He managed to open window but said the aircon isn’t working as the system will be undergoing maintenance work. I complained about the poor condition of the room. Dark brown old and dated furniture. No suitcase rack. Said a room in a Travelodge is better. There wasn’t a fridge in the room.
No bottle of water. The kettle is fixed in a small wall cupboard. Coffee is in instant sachets. For a 4* hotel would expect a coffee machine.
Received a call from reception after the member of staff reported back about our disappointment. Reception told me as aircon not working there is a fan in the cupboard!!!
The bathroom must have been recently modernised which was good.
For the price the hotel is not worth it. Very disappointed and it spoilt our arrival day. After complaining we were moved to another room on 3rd floor. The room was the same size - small but same dated furniture. We were offered a complimentary breakfast as an apology. The breakfast was excellent but if I was paying I would say £25 per person is far too much. I would certainly not recommend this hotel.
Sergio's restaurant across road, fantastic fun xx
The staff were super friendly and helped with a situation with my bathroom (even though it was late at night) and were very respectful and polite. The room was a little small but absolutely enough for 1 person. The room was very clean and had a clean kettle, some tea and biscuits, a study desk and a nice sized bathroom. Overall, I would certainly stay here again. Thank you!!
