Reviews
During my stay this time, my £700 -9.00 prescription glasses were stolen from the window ledge of the public bathroom!! It's crazy, these glasses are not suitable for anyone except me. And I put it on the windowsill at 4am! Because I’m disable without that paired of glasses so it's really emergency and It ruins my whole travel plan. Of course, I called the police and London police is always helpless in this case although it is definitely an emergency for me.
So disappointed, the police the hotel refused to give any refund. At my strong request, they provided me with a free breakfast for 6 pounds. They tried to help me find my glasses but not helpful at all. That's too late. They won’t give any compensation if I don’t fight for it.
But I must say that next time I come to London, I will choose to stay here again. Because it is too cheap and the location is convenient.
I arrived carrying several heavy bags for a one-night stay before catching an early-morning train. Already exhausted, I had to lift everything over three small but frustratingly inaccessible steps. By the time I dragged the bags inside, I was sweating and needed a moment to catch my breath.
Instead of offering even basic empathy, the male staff member immediately questioned whether I was “on *****” because I looked tired and stressed. His first response was not concern, but suspicion—he demanded that I move my bags away from the entrance before letting me rest. When I tried to start the check-in process and said only “check in,” he refused to communicate further and told me to “come back when you’re clear-headed.” Only after he “allowed” me to speak again did he inform me that storing luggage costs £4 per item, not “£4 per day” as stated on Trip.com.
Noise level was terrible.
My room faced the street with the window fully open; traffic noise was constant and loud all night (Thursday). Combined with a roommate’s heavy snoring, it was nearly impossible to sleep. I ended up lying awake just using my phone until morning.
I understand this is a budget hostel, and I booked it purely to save money for my early train. But if you’re traveling with luggage and need proper rest before a morning departure, I’d strongly recommend choosing somewhere else.

❤️ Lively corner pub on York Way just around the corner from Kings Cross station. There are bars on two floors and a easy accessible roof terrace illuminated by fairy lights. I popped in on a Friday evening and the atmosphere was upbeat and there was a good buzz about the place. The pub puts on DJ and Jazz nights and there was a fantastic Jazz quartet on that night and I thoroughly enjoyed it. There’s something for everyone at The Fellow
