I absolutely loved the style, décor, and facilities of the room — the hotel has real personality and quirky charm throughout. The location is perfect for exploring the Notting Hill neighbourhood, with so much right on your doorstep. The beds were incredibly comfortable, the toiletries were beautiful, and both the shower and bath were excellent — everything felt thoughtful and luxuriously high quality.

Beautiful room. Very quirky and good bath. No tv that I could find. - but actually I rather liked that. Comfortable bed and slept well. Hope the lift is now working as it was a bit of a trek up the stairs but staff were very kind and took the bags up.

I’m not sure what some of the guests below are smoking. Or just plainly, how miserable they are. Wonderful hotel. If you want a taste and/or the feel of Notting Hill - and can’t quite afford to live there - This is for you. Brilliant, smart hosts. Great service. Have been coming here sporadically for 20 years. It ain’t Disneyland. It’s an amazing opportunity to taste life in a lovely part of London. 5 out of 5 isn’t enough.

My husband and I stayed at Portobello Hotel in August 2025. We had an amazing time. All of the staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. The room itself was gorgeous - I wish I had photos to show everyone. Beautiful, spacious, and overlooked a lovely garden (note: private to next-door residents; not available for hotel guests). The entire hotel is classically elegant with a little eclectic twist. Food and amenities were also great. It's located in Notting Hill, which is very walkable. It's about 10-15 minutes to the nearest tube station as well. We had an amazing time here!

Based on my research, I expected this to be an excellent place to spend our anniversary. However, after interacting with management, I was shocked by how rude and dismissive they were. What the house manager initially fixed, the duty manager eagerly undid. I tried to address and resolve the situation, but was met with agitation and pushback instead of service. Thankfully, we booked with free cancellation through Expedia and were able to avoid what became a service nightmare. I do not recommend booking here. If you’re questioning it, consider this your answer. Perhaps some guests have great experiences, but the moment anything becomes even slightly complicated, so do they. Do not let this behavior discourage you, as this is not the London that we know in love. 🫶🏻🇬🇧

Spectacular!
The staff is very welcoming and so lovely. The hotel is warm, comfy, and very well cared for.
The location is perfect, close to shops, food and beautiful parks. I can’t wait to return!

Great location lovely rooms, small bed & very hot!
Lovely hotel, great staff and location. However the room was boiling when we arrived, the coffee machine wasn’t working properly, the lamps around the room weren’t working (aside from the bedside ones) and the bed was so small we were pretty uncomfortable all night. No top sheet so had to sleep with a comfortable but far too hot duvet, even with the window open and the aircon on cool! Aircon wouldn’t go below 19°. Bath was gorgeous and the shower pressure great, decor lovely - just a pretty uncomfortable nights sleep!

This place is absolutely lovely! The did and wines are excellent and the location is very cozy and the Italian stuff and the owner are wonderful to their guests - it really feels like Italy - my absolute favorite Italian place in London ???????
